I have tried everything and I couldn't get passed 4mb, thanks for refering that program, I now run at 5.3mb Ill see if I can get it higher, my cap is 7.1mb so I think I might be able to tweak to atleast 6mb

I have the same 7/896 plan and I cant get past 4mb/500kb Looks like you're getting your money's worth.

I have tried all of that stuff, no viruses, I tried all the larger tests, different servers etc... I guess I will call my isp.

When I first got this set up I was running at 4.5mb down, I figured that was too slow for a 7mb line, so I got rid of all the spyware (4 tracking cookings, woopty doo). Then my average speed dropped to 4.2mb, wtf! So I figured this must be a registry problem, so I downloaded (and purchased) the RegistryFix program and fixed all the errors. 396 registry errors. But now it only runs at 3.8mb! So I downloaded the Winsock fix program and repaired winsock No luck. No firewall (just an ActionTec DSL Modem/Gateway) No router (using the gateway) No spyware No registry problems Good lines Athlon XP 3200 (512mb ram) No other computers connected to LAN No background programs (Just AVG and SpeedFan, nothing else) No unecessary drivers/programs Any ideas for why this is so slow and decreasing in speed everytime I fix a problem?
