  2. I don't mind it... It's kind of hypnotizing
  3. Ah cool thanks for the warm welcome. Sorry If i sounded a bit snappish. I will check out the new sig when i get home. And I hope that we have answered your original question byran. Also I sent an email to your ISP provider. One your web site it states the following:
  4. What make/model router do you have?
  5. OK I now understand what you were referring to (.ccs). There is no setting with in windows that will allow you to to user PowerBoost for longer then what it was intended to, or make it faster for that matter. That is all contolled by the .cm file that is downloaded to the modem. Now if you are thinking that you want to raise your RWIN, to accommodate for the speed increase, you have to consider the fact that if you make it to large its going to be detrimental to your standard speed. I hope that answered it some what... if you need me to go farther in dept send me a PM.
  6. Actually its not easy, you are paying someone that figured out how to do it. I was just stating that its near impossible to do it with out purchasing the software from the people that reversed engineered it. Most of the programs that don't involve reflashing are legacy programs that DOCSIS 1.0 killed. But yes it is easy to get your hands on an uncapped modem/hardware to do so your self
  7. First your cable company did not "uncap" your modem, but they did push you a new config file.Every configuration file has a set bandwidth written to it. So your modem is "Capped" at some speed, whether it be 12/1 or 30/5 there is no unlimited config file. The reasons that you are getting crappy results is because the servers that you are connecting to have either a lot of users connecting to them, using up all of there allocated bandwidth; or they can not handle speeds past 5mbs. Your connection is only as fast as what you are connecting to. It
  8. Well first off to get the PowerBoost you need to be in an Area that supports DOCSIS 1.1 . Also you have to have a modem that can handle 1.1. IE SB5100 + . Then comcast will push the correct config file to your modem. =D Hope this helps
