  1. Just wanted to let you know, the internet completely died not too long after I posted that message. Called Comcast the next day. They got a technician out earlier today and it turns out that the modem they gave me was faulty. They swapped it out with a new one and everything is back in tip-top shape. Thanks for the reply's though, I really do appreciate it. And in case you were wondering: :::.. 2. So I have the 6mb connection with Comcast and in the last 2 to 3 days the internet became very slow. That eventually led me here where what I found astounded me. Speeds similar to this: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Download Connection is:: 155 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 512 kB) Download Speed is:: 19 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Main) Test Time:: 2008/10/03 - 4:00am Bottom Line:: 3X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 53.89 sec Tested from a 512 kB file and took 27.027 seconds to complete Download Diagnosis:: May need help : running at only 2.48 % of your hosts average (comcast.net) D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-PVI4Q97TE User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 NET_mmhpset [!] I contacted Comcast through there online chat where they proceeded to reset the modem on their end, then had me turn off my computer and reset my modem. After I did all that, what I found was that my internet no longer worked at all for the past 5 hours. I spent a lot of time trying to get it to work, when randomly it started working again, but still at these horrendously slow speeds. So, I ask, any ideas what could be the problem? For the record, I did a bunch of virus, adware, etc. scans and cleaned my computer as well as cleaned my registry. I'm gonna give them a call some time tomorrow, assuming it doesn't get fixed by then. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
