yeah, I have the same one.  cost $150 but no problems, like needing to restart or anything.  also nice web configuration.

if you ever looked inside, you can see a heat sink.  pretty fancy

I as-well have one and the performance on it is superb! The heat sink inside it looks... "sexy". :evil6:

EDIT: Re-sized the picture, it was to enormous. :)

DGL-4300 works great.  got it for $125 with $25 MIB.  Got a D-link 15 dbi outdoor antenna and set up a network with my buddy down the road.  he gets about 6/1 of my 9/1 connection.

and cox doesnt suck anymore.  i moved and now get every bit of my 9/1.

Very cool.. yes that is the best router on the consumer market right now.. I am really impress that Linksys has yet to really answer in the gaming market.. I would just wish that DLink would lower the price just a bit.. With the future of 802.11n which is going to be capable of 400mbps.. I am really interested in where this sector of the gaming community is headed.

i actually have a westell versalink 327W. and i love it, better then any router that Ive ever had. give better speeds, and better pings in games. and its super easy to modify, i upgraded the standard wifi card in it to the Intel pro wireless card and got about 20% more coverage. i would recommend this router/modem to anyone that has DSL.

I have the Netgear WPN824 and it's awesome.

[quote name='www.netgear.com]NETGEAR’s RangeMax Wireless Router extends your wireless network coverage up to 10 times that of standard 802.11g' date=' thanks to an advanced Smart MIMO (Multi-In, Multi-Out) technology that incorporates seven “intelligent ” internal antennas. The antennas continuously scan your home, automatically sensing physical obstacles and electronic interference, then dynamically adjust the wireless signal to compensate and maintain a clear connection. Even throughout large homes with thick walls and multiple floors, you enjoy reliable high-speed connections, with virtually no dropouts or dead spots. What’s more, securing your wireless network has never been easier. NETGEAR’s Touchless WiFi Security allows you to easily establish the highest level of wireless network security (WEP, WPA/PSK, or WPA2/PSK). In addition, with an integrated Security Dashboard, you can monitor and manage access to inappropriate websites. These parental controls are password protected and are router-based, so every PC accessing the Internet can be managed from one central location.[/quote']

When you connect to the router wirelessly the router selects what antenna would give you the best connection. After it is in your house for about 48 hours it scans your home and bounces the signal off objects in your house. I previously had the linksys WRT54G and it sucks compared to this router. I have had no problems with the router. I've played Xbox Live on it and downloaded large files over wireless and ethernet and no problems.

Check out the file I posted, shows the LED's

This might be a stupid question, but, do you need internet connection sharing if you have a router?

I am thinking of buying the Linksys BEFSR41 Wired Router, I don't know about the wireless one.  I have read that they are slower.  Any information would be appreciated.  Thanks,

I have the WPN802 hooked to a WGT624, and have had no problems with either. I can even get connection at a neighbors house which is about 200 feet away.  :smitten:

They may be slower.. but the expandability is often worth it..  You are only go to see the "slowness" if you have like 15 computer all downloading something at the same time or pushing 3gb files around the network..

let me rewind this topic.I am using a 3Com wireless router,i have upgraded also its firmware to its latest as found in their website. When i first use it in the middle east,me and some of my friends apply for a ADSL line there. When i used it using RJ 45 connection,i can fully enjoy its functions like wireless and extra 3 LAN ports. The problem we've encountered, all of my friends connection were cut, only me was able to surf the internet. Now, when i went home here in the Philippines i used it for my home network.I put one wireless desktop pc  for my daughter's room,me and my wife uses 2 laptops and one desktop for my gaming. My problem now is that i can surf the internet one pc at a time using Smartbro connection.I was really disappointed with my router.I dont want to throw it because i put some pigtail connection on it to extend its antenna all over my house, and it cost me so much.I lost my brain configuring it.

I have a linksys wrt54g I have had it for years now and it works great.Easy to use and no problems with xbox live. The only fault I could find is the wireless range is not that good. The range for the wireless would be ok in a small house or apt and out on a patio or short yard.

That router ( wrt54g ) is a great candidate for flashing with dd-wrt firmware. Excellent features and much more control over your network. It will allow you to adjust the power range of the wireless, which comes in very handy.

So how's everybody doing in that little head of yours ? â„¢

I have read a little about dd-wrt.I am very good with pc hardware and many OS,s but when it comes to networking well the basics would apply.I have thought about flashing my router but that novice knot in the belly comes into play and im just afraid I may screw up my faithfull router. On the other hand if I could increase the power to my wireless that sounds good..So U think a novice with routers and its related software should try dd-wrt..U can look up my other posts and questons here to get a handle on my ability to use said software..

Thanks
Tim

Without looking up your posts yet , I will have to say that following the instructions exactly as written , the likelihood of you bricking your router are slim to none. The process is multi stage and to be honest rather simple.

The main issue that would cause anyone to have an issue , might be that some people do not read and follow the instructions , and get into a hurry to see the changes on there routers GUI.

Go over the instructions several times , many times , then without actually doing it , get the software needed from DD-WRT , and do a mock flash of the unlocker and the rest of the process.

There is a waiting period of several minutes in one part of the process , make sure to wait ! Just as the words imply , wait the specified time limit. And follow the instructions afterward.

All that said , if you can follow instructions carefully , you'll have no problems. ( now I'll go read a couple of your posts ;)

edit: I also read that you were into PC games , and any PC gamer has has to make some adjustments and get into settings to insure there system runs they way they want it to, so i have no doubt you can accomplish the DD-WRT flashing process. Just please take your time reading.

Can I ask what version router you have ( will be on the sticker on the bottom ) I believe these things take the mini , that is what I have flashed on the one here. Not sure if nokaid is available for your version , if it is , use it.

I have a netgear N also , and nokaid is a great version.
