do you have a custom built PC, or a manufactured pc, like a dell, gateway, etc.

What kind of mobo/pc is it?

1- Have anything you need on your hard drive backed up on some other media...  :computer:
(Blue Screens of Death are common when trying to test the limits)
2- Have a manual for your motherboard  :icon_study:
3- Know how to clear the CMOS BEFORE you start to O/C.  :book1:
4- You will create more heat, which most likely will need to be addressed.   :violent5:
5- The better the ram, the more you will be able to O/C....  :twogun:
6- Did I mention more heat?  :evil6:

Most important...

Understand that O/C can damage your system especially if you do not take steps to cool your  :headbang:system....If you don't know how to, learn how to reformat, and reinstall windows...You may deem o/s unbootable....I personally have never had a problem, except the random blue screen of death when I try to go too far(usually way too far  :haha: )....But I normally expect it to happen...

MORE POWER!  :headbang:

Like the others have said,   ???????? on your system,  check these posts out
, they will help out tremendously :> If you have a clockable MB , and good Hardware, go slow! little at a time , Leave alone for a while , or which some people dont care for , a burn-in program .To condition the Processor, they say, the processor will in a sense, learn the voltage , and adjust to it.? I'm a firm believer. Never try to go all the way at once.http://www.testmy.ne...x.php?board=8.0
