Hi,
did anybody have this problem? I rescued lost photos, they were saved with bmp, but now I can not open them.
Thanks

Hello coknuck,
thanks for your help.

Unfortunately the programs could not read the files. The responses were:
"File not readable. Unknown format" for www.flydragonsoft.com/bmp-jpeg-converter.htm and
"can't open file" for www.reasoft.com/ra-bmp-change-jpg.shtml

J : What OS do you have ?I had to apply some fixes to MSPaint befoer it would do .jpeg & .gif
It always did .bmp ok though. Also check you "Folder Options" in control panel under "file types" & see what your .bmp "opens with" Mine uses "image preview" but I can open a .bmp with MSPaint also.

Your right cholla, I forgot to mention that I am on XP media center 2005.
But that is all I have to do anyway.

So I guess just send them to someone who has at least that new of a comp, and have them send them back changed.  ;)
