I'v had opt online now for about 2 years and its really really great but i noticed both my download and my upload speeds are seriously F*c*e*d up,I have a linksys router with a Belkin Wireless 802.11G card it doesent go through many walls so idk what the problem is Heres my Tests

See anything wrong? Yeah it sucks can someone Give me a solution to this problem or a guide or explain it in detail how to get my speeds to where everyone elses is? i had NO programs running btw when this was done and my computer is CLEAN of all virus's and spyware i run daily tests so they cant be the problem....

with that upload it looks like you are capped so i would call and find out if you are or not.  they will tell you but from all the people i have seen capped its always about 150 kbps and if your not capped it should be about 2000 upload

Yeah well i figured the capped out but i dont upload much and what about the download? same thing? will they uncap me if i do call them ?

if your capped your download will go down cause you need upload to download and yes they will uncap you if you call up but it might take a few days but i would do it.

Well i used that tcpopt thing and restarted and now im getting this for download speeds

Im happy that it worked but i did my upload and im still around 130-170kbs or 13-17kbs a second

download this program ( http://homepage.ntlw...diag.zip?030720 ) and unzip it then open the folder and click the 2kXP-win file and copy and paste this  java -jar docsdiag.jar -vvv >output.txt  then hit enter and in the docsdiag folder there will be a file called output.   attach the file in your next post and i'll tell you if your capped or just look for what i posted below in the output file

yea your capped so call optimum and get it fixed.  sorry to hear that

Why would they do that? I mean i barley up load i mean like once or twice a week i do a signature upload and like will i see a diffrence in overall speed if i have em uncap it? and will they cap me again>

yes your speed should go up a bit on download and the upload should also go up atleast 10X what it is now if your uncapped.  now getting capped again is a different story but you or someone else might be doing alot of uploading to get capped so maybe i would look into getting boost since its only $15 more a month and it doubles your speeds on upload and download and your allowed to run servers so you shouldnt be capped on that service and if you dont want to just ask them how you can avoid getting capped.
