Lineham R.A.F gateway  to the graveyard for UK military , it passes through "Wooten Basset "  a small UK village in Wiltshire UK ,

Our Queen has given the village the title "Royal " hence forthwith  it is "Royal Wooten Basset " ,and the first grant of that title for 100 years, (as a village boy I lived in the next county Berkshire   just 20 miles away )  we feuded often , "Wiltshire moon rakers" and the reply
Berkshire born and bred ,stong in the arm ,but weak in the head  caused many a bawl at closing time , :grin2:

Why the Royal title ? , I guess they rightly earned it , along with most of the UK's Harley riders , just giving respect to the UK's fallen military ,

that looks about every Harley in the UK ,

edit to add , yeah, I miss my black rat bike days, cars are just not the same ,
Upon this gifted age, in its dark hour,
Rains from the sky a meteoric shower
Of facts... they lie unquestioned, uncombined.
Wisdom enough to leech us of our ill
Is daily spun; but there exists no loom
To weave it into fabric.

The more bikes the better, especially for a good cause.

Nice to see a mix of different types of bikes. I hate when its all Harley's. Gotta let the others come out and have fun not everyone wants to drop $20K + to ride a bike that falls apart every 20 miles.  :2funny:

After today I am a believer in that. A friend of mine bought one today and I rode it home from the dealer for him since he doesn't have his motorcycle license yet. It was a 2011 Triumph Thunderbird and I was very impressed, super smooth motor, gear changes are almost impossible to hear, the clutch was smooth and very responsive. The bike felt as good and as smooth as a Jap cruisers.

Correct me if I am wrong, but according to this it sounds like Triumph now is a Jap bike with an Olde English name attached by purchase only.

I owned an Old 1965 Triumph 500. Cool as long as it did not backfire while kickstarting.  :evil6:

Read the wiki and I'm not seeing anything about triumph being a japanese bike. What was stated is that the new owner " took a tour " of japanese factories to get an idea of what they were up against.

The 66' Bonneville I have is a true icon to early British manufacturing. ( currently looking for a custom frame btw ) Actually deciding who I'll have make it  thats if I can't find a pre built roller for a reasonable price.  Too many people are putting together frames for a triumph with no top head bolt connection to the frame, which imo is just asking for the harmonic vibrations to tear it apart. That is why they were there on the original frame.

Not saying it was a jap bike, just appeared to me it might have been. And this then puzzled me.

HD does the same thing. I installed a power commander on one the other week and almost every part I pulled off was stamped with Made in China or Taiwan. Its just a trend of the world. Even the Japanese cruisers now scream China. The only bikes I haven't seen this happen on is the Japanese Sport bikes. You start taking those apart and every single part is stamped Made in Japan.

Like I said earlier in this thread the last true all American built Harley-Davidson was the Knucklehead '36 to '47. After that the Harley start subcontracting parts to Japan.

It's been called the biggest milestone left in Drag Racing—the first 6 second quarter mile streetbike pass—and it fell this year at the hands of rider Ryan Schnitz and builder/tuner Cecil Towner of Richmond, Virginia's HTP Performance.
After the HTP team ripped through the barrier by an unheard-of tenth of a second at the October MIRock Superbike Series event at Maryland International Raceway, they ran more 6s at the Shakedown at E-town (Englishtown, New Jersey) and the Manufacturers Cup (Valdosta, Georgia). Now that the nitrous-huffing HTP Suzuki Hayabusa has the number firmly in it’s grasp, no track’s 6 second scoreboard bulbs are safe!
This video by Eatmyink Media shows the team tearing up the track and talking about what it took to get all that HTP horsepower hooked up with the tiny street tire. Please watch, share and embed this video and spread the word about HTP’s remarkable Season of the 6!

I have to modify this tank. The petcock of over the #1 cylinder , not good. Not only that , on the fly I had to modify the thing to stop a hemorrhage and prevent my untimely death due to leakage. As you can see lol

I'm going to plug the current position and put a real valve in the back bottom #2 side. The tank is solid, I'll pressure test it , clean it up and have it powder coated.

I'll be welding it obviously. And have not had to weld a tank already used. Iv'e been told everything from filling it with sand , to water , soap , just rinse it , been told not to do it. Well it's getting done either way.

So I'll need the safest solution to be able to do this.

I missed something , which thing should work , all of the above ? Do the rinse , fill with sand, because I know filling with water I'll never be running a bead on it.
