I've had it for about 2months & it appears to be working quite well.

I haven't noticed any problems with 8.0 so far. If you are experiencing slowdowns, how much RAM do you have? I have a P4 running XP at 1.86 GHz but I do have 2 gigs of RAM. Maybe that's the difference?

Mine is Athlon XP @ 1.8 GHz, 1 Gig RAM, WinXP SP2,, all of my apps load a bit longer with 8.0, while 7.5 gives me good load times.

I am running AVG  8.0 on my laptop and my desktop with no speed problems. I am running Vista 64 and Firefox 3.0 on both, Firefox 3.0 did turn off the AVG Safe Search because of compatible problem with it. Both computers do have 4GB of ram each.

I upgraded from 7.5, it looks good and a re-designed clean interface, then I noticed degraded performance on my PC. I tried re-installing, I get the same result. I feel safe with AVG but this new update slowed down my PC.  sad sad

I personally went back to 7.5 and it is still updating so far. One was the slowdown I noticed with it too. Not sure why. Be good to know though.

The only problem I have is doesn't update all the time.  When it doesn't up date I go here and get it http://www.avg.com/download-update

I made a folder AVG and down load the updates to it. Open the AVG8 interface click on Tools at the top and select Update from Directory then select the AVG folder and it will update
