This one to be exact. Nice home defense weapon at a nice price. The guy laughed at me. He said that he could see if he could get one but he may not be able to. I said why? He said "they are all gone."

What do you mean, I reply.

Since the economy tanked, Obama was elected and Mexico started acting up we cant get them. The demand is to high nationwide. I said how about some shells (I already own several guns) he says no dice. He will have some on Monday.

I go to Academy and walk back to the gun section with my family. I get about 50 feet away and tell my family to go check out other stuff because of the crowd around the guns. It was amazing. Luckily I am well over 6 feet tall so I kinda peered over everyone. They had little to nothing in stock.

As I am looking (I was there maybe 3 minutes tops) four different people ask for 9mm ammo. The lady behind the counter said we will have some tomorrow. We went through two pallets in two days and our next shipment is tomorrow. I dont know how much ammo is on a pallet but it sounds like a shit load to me.

She said there is no problem getting the ammo, but keeping it in stock is impossible.

Crazy times we live in. The first gun dealer I went to told me "Son, you wouldnt believe the people that have been buying guns from me lately. People that would have never touched a gun a year ago are my best customers."

I said "Great so now a bunch of people with no idea of how to shoot has guns out there."

He just grinned at me "Yep, its getting scary." He said.

I dont really care what gun laws they make, the SCOTUS ruled the second amm. protects citizens. It would have to literally be Armageddon before any gov. would try to take guns from the US citizens. Especially in my state. It just wouldnt work. They may try to over tax them or kill demand by killing ammo supplies. But as with everything else a black market will arise and THEN the Mexican Cartels can make Trillions off of Weed AND the new HUGE demand for guns/ammo.

You know everything the gov. says we cant have, well anyone that wants it will get it. And they will pay ALOT of money to people that you and the gov wouldnt want to have alot of money. We will still be doing this shit 1000 years from now. Just with cooler ways of killing each other. I hope lasers are involved.  :grin2: :grin2: :grin2: :grin2:

OH my god. I never would have believed it. Looked everywhere, none to be found. I again hate the last election. And people really have to say give him a chance. Shit he is ruining this country faster in a month than any president did in 8 years, including Clinton, who is starting to look pretty decent to me.  :idiot2:

Interesting this came up, I go through 4-5 hundred rounds every week or so at the range, so I get 1000 at a time from a local guy. I went in there a couple days ago, he has a 4 box max, he makes them himself and he can't keep up. Now what the hell am I going to do with 200 rounds ? Nothing, not even waste my time. So I go to my favorite online ammo/gun auction website, no shortage there, but I'm used to paying around a tenth of a cent per round, or less, and it had doubled.

Iv'e been looking for either a mid 80's k frame nickel M66 .38 , prices went up about 25% , so I went for the j frame M19 pre 70's , cool, bid, a guy got me , he paid frickin 800 bucks for something worth maybe 6 if it were mint. What a joke, people are nutz ! :haha:  There scared , thats all, I just hope all these new people to guns do the right thing and learn something about them as they should, learn to respect them, and love them like I always have. I think they will, there not the ones we have to worry about robbing, but they are the ones we have to worry about( hopefully ) Most these people are the type ( at least ine ones I have seen crowding around buying things they never would have last year) there the type that are buying trigger locks and big ass gun safes ( thee flyin off the shelves as well which is really cool) To know people are securing there firearms so there kids don't get hold of them.

Hey shug, good move on the 870, real nice safe, popular shotgun. One of if not the more of these things out there then anything except the M19-j S&W .357/.38.  That thing will last you for the rest of your life man, clean it all the time, even if you don't put any rounds through it. I have one myself.

:haha: He hasnt done anything to gun owners... yet. This is just straight up fear. The good news is the more people that own guns, the more deterrent there is to trying to take them away.

Does it matter how he ruins it?  Even if it is the reactions to his actions? To me it is all headed in the wrong direction.  [nerdly]

Same as his bailout. they got the bonus' whether or  not the money was meant to be spent that way. I was told when you grow up you learn things happen when you make decisions, so think them "THOROUGHLY" through well before making them. And I truly think he is missing that part.  :uglystupid2: And in the end "WE" all pay for it. One way or the other.

Well I will deffinantly agree that it is all headed in the wrong direction. From Obama back about.... Oh.... 30-40 years. Give or take. I dont think we will ever get it back though. Power is not given up unless by force and every POTUS seems to grab more power. The American people are pretty pussified now days too.

Not sure where everyone else in here is from, but I live in south Louisiana and we have had no gun shortage here. Gun sales have had a small spike but nothing major. I guess it is partly because people here are not worried because the economy is so good. Our unemployment rate is dropping and on top of that many people are getting big raises. We are pretty sure Obama will not visit Louisiana either because there is a pretty good chance someone will shoot him. I found this post interesting because I am in the market to buy a gun myself. I own 23 already, but I want another pistol to round out the number. I am thinking of either getting a 45 or a 38 caliber, not sure which.

i'd prefer the 45. but the .38 is nice also...i guess it depends on the model.

i know you dont probably want just another pistol for home saftey but damn either one of those even raised in my direction would stop me dead in my tracks....didnt mean that pun about dead in my tracks...just using it figuratively

Consider yourself one of the few. I thought hell this is Texas. Gun shortages are for California and New York. Well, no I was wrong.  :uglystupid2: There is a big one here in west texas. Weird.
