I called TWC today abput an outage on the TV side ( who cares really ) aar, I'm payin for it, so I guess I do lol, high winds took a line out. While I had her on the line, I threw a couple more questions her way, check it out.

I just last week had there VoIP service installed,  ( got rid of Vonage ) they brought me a modem that looks like it fell out the back, and was run over, I mentioned this, and the fact that there are no batteries in there, so when the power goes out, the phone pukes. She puts me on hold, for at least 5 minutes, and comes back with this,  " well we never put batteries in those modems, because when the power gopres out , it doesn't matter anyway "  :haha: ( I'm thinking you gotta be fukin kidding me, does she think I'm that stupid ? ) The better question is who told her to say this ? Id'e like to meet them. And ask them how they get by on a day to day basis.

What the hell do they think the batteries are there for ? Jayzuz H  !   :haha:  I had nothing to say to her other then, "are you seriously telling me that ? " She didn't even stumble and said something to the effect of " well thats the way it is ".

I'll take it to the local TWC "place " and exchange it.

So i quickly moved to the next question before her entire sense of reality dwindled to the point she couldn't figure out how to put the keys in the ignition for the ride home after such a difficult days work  :? ,  I asked her if there was a storm, and there was a lightning strike, then the power went out and my niebors house was on fire, How was I supposed to call 911 ? She hung the phone up.   :haha: :haha: :haha: OMFG, and we wonder why these companies take there call centers to other countries ?

:buck2: :2funny: :2funny: thats hilarious.
i love her response to the last question...which is a very legit question. im suprised she didnt mention a cell phone...which i would have replied...but im paying you for this phone, dont worry about my cell phone in this problem...thats just another variable you added....

i've had a similar story with cable one....i called them out because my internet was down as well as cable tv...so i figured i'd call them out...they came out did all the diagnostics, i had them try to come to this site (i knew it wouldnt as the net wasnt connected) but they tried repeatedly...then tell me...well it shouldnt affect you but all of our lines in this area are down....but you should still be working fine...and i looked at they guy and go..."if the lines in this whole area are down why should my stuff be working? do i have magic?" and he replied something like "the lines are just down..it doesnt mean that internet cant get through them"....so im left wondering how this guy thinks i can get internet through a line that is in all reality CUT IN HALF because someone wrecked a car into the pole that the lines were on....i didnt find this part out until later or i wouldnt have wasted an hour trying to figure out what this guy was talking about

I'll tell ya! I Sometimes I complain about Insightbb but I haven't had a problem in a long time. Our Modems have a 5+ min backup battery in them in case of an power outage so you can make an emergency call. As a matter of fact to power cycle the modem you got to pull the battery.

bad times indeed , but outsoursing is for cost saving ,so who is to blame on that ? ,.either the ISP or the customer being not willing to pay for home based suport ,
In the UK you cant register a Mobile (cell phone without a uk land line #) totaly free from mains power outage ,
for emergancy calls ( 999 UK )
tre last digit on the old dial up analoge phones in the UK , so you can dial it in the dark or smoke ,

and go easy on the gal , she probably lives in a tin shack  sheared by 15 otrher members of her family ,
and sure she reads from a script, yes it is annoying , but it sure beats prostition ,

just my thoughts

You have to admit, must have the same writer as Obama with the pre-written scripts.  :idiot2: Doesn't have to make sense as long as most people will believe it.  :undecided:

as long as there are people here, there will be useless information getting pushed at the people who want the real answers IMO its all to hide either A)stupidity, or ignorance of the answer but wanting to sound smart or B)if we know the answer then all hell will break loose (example: our government with their secrets)

he was implying that the same writer that does Obama's "scripts" is the same one who writes the scripts for these "intelligent" support line workers, such as the one you talked to.

and i was saying, that i agree and went off on a small rant about how people will say anything stupid to either sound smart or to hide something we "shouldnt know"....

we basically digressed from the topic that you had intended on keeping...we derailed it to something about stupid people and stupid answers....  :2funny:

now if there is a discussion where everything is going fine...i stumble in and am like...what? who? HUH?

anyway sorry i derailed your thread.

we can get back to business as intended :P

other than that yeh its on topic.

edit/ this is a good title for the thread...i mean we keep confusing ourselves and each other, "it never ends, does it" ?
