[Biggles]

anyone into Photo manipulation ?  it's seems like a lot of folk are ,
sure it is a good thing correcting old photo images ,
the funniest one I got asked to do ,was to remove a hat from a guy , I asked for some details about his hair colour and style , and got told remove the hat and it will be obvious..... : .......
( truly they are amongst us , and dammit they breed )

in case you are wondering what I am on about ,an easy example

the first Pic , a Royal Navy Air Services (RNAS ) aircraft , from way back in the 60's
on a fly past , notice my fault in the lower trees , ( the odd branch )
the second Pic the way it was using my 4Mpsl Canon camera , it's 5 years old and just died with error 18 
the next will be a Nikon ,

so what I was thinking any camera guys on the forum , got any before and after manips ?
if so post them up , and what program you used .
BTW, I only use  free progs

I been doing photo manipulations for about 5 years.
they are simple to do and I make them when I have nothing to do.

i seem to over think how to do it when i try. what is the best method for taking something out of a photo and making it look like i havent tampered with the background...or to even get the background in where it should be?

Its hard for me to explain on how to do that since I don't know what type of program you use or have.
I only use photoshop and I work mostly with layers and the clone tool to remove blemishes or objects.

The picture was made by taking the picture without the model and then took several poses
later adding layer per layer and erasing the previous layer's background and just leaving the model intact
there could be a different way of doing this, but this is the easiest way for me.

well most folk are just pleased to have an improved ? manipulated photo ,I don't get to deep into it ,
I can easy see my lack of skill/free programs , but in a 5X7 frame thatain't that obvious ,

Use an old prog "adobe photo deluxe "  it came free with a scanner,long gone  ,I have Adobe photoshop but I find it to much of a hassle ,
as monsnet2k8  says it's just " I make them when I have nothing to do." ,
I still prefere the old  film http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Hasselblad , but  digital is fun and fast ,#

WOW , I need to reinstall Photoshop and learn some I guess ?

Well, you already have a camera and photoshop. Install it, take pictures and play with them.
remember to achieve what I did the camera must not move at all. use a tripod and snap away!
ll you need is a bit of patience to learn the tools. anyone can do it

You can find so many Photoshop tutorials online and then you just practice, practice and practice. I’ll have to join in when I have more time.

I didn't notice any changes on the pictures when posted.
but just a few minutes ago I realized that the pictures are the same but one is of high resolution.

Well, I did a little modification to the image.

Hi guys , thanks for the input , I am not sure why, but I was posting the same image twice ? 

good mod monsnet2k8  on my castle pic , well my old canon A520  4Mpsl seemed to have bit the dust ,
but now it looks as the AA 2,300 Ma batteries are the problem , (4 years old )  so I have ordered some Fuji 2.800,
if that dont work out , I will buy a Nikon , 

these days I only use a camera for snapshots , I will easly be pleased with what I get , and maybe the Canon will live on with it's new batteries ,  if not they will fit my Logitech mouse ,

BTW the castle (Arundel ) one of the best going at the time , built on a hill with a drinking water well 150 Ft deep ,,
the opposing army drained the nearby lake , the water level dropped and the castle ran out of water in 14 days , ..Doh ,
