I'm on Mediacom, which advertises 12 Mb download. I'm using a netbook with a 8.11g wireless connection. I'm getting between 11.2 and 11.45. I did a ping test which shows around 8 ms of jitter. I don't know if this is good. I'm clearly not getting the full 12 Mb. Any thoughts?

First welcome to the forum! I have Insightbb and pay for 10/1. On my wireless laptop I get around 9.2-9.8 download. On the wired desktop I get 10.2-10.5. You might want to try hard wired and see what you get.
