Last week reports emerged indicating that Comcast was testing a new Internet-fueled cable-TV set top. From early looks at the device and some of the features (such as embedded Twitter and Facebook support), it appears like Comcast is playing catch up on this front with telco TV competitors like Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-Verse. Multichannel News directs our attention to some <a href="http://www.multichannel.com/article/461415-Pace_Powers_Comcast_s_Xfinity_Spectrum_Net_Enabled_TV_Trial.php">new details about the trial</a>, most notably that the device is called the "Xfinity Spectrum" and is made by UK set-top company Pace. More specifically, the Pace RNG210N HD DVR comes with composite, HDMI, S-video and digital audio out ports, on top of USB, 1394 and Ethernet connections. It's currently winding its way through the FCC approval process, so the <a href="https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=868711&fcc_id='NQ8RNG210N'">FCC website</a> has lots of additional information for Comcast users if they're interested in learning more.
