According to an announcement by hardware vendor Arris, the company has been testing 800 Mbps cable modem service with South Korean broadband ISP SK Broadband. According to the vendor, the tests involve bonding 16 Downstream channels using an ARRIS C4 CMTS and an SK Broadband 16x4 modem. The company makes no mention of what kind of upstream speeds were witnessed in the trials; previous releases indicate they've deployed upstream bonding with South Korean operator HCN but also fail to mention what speeds they're seeing upstream. Last November German cable operator Kabel Deutschland (KDG) successfully achieved cable broadband download speeds of up to 1Gbps using Cisco gear.
