Yeah.. it's real. Swarming bots will be the best because you take a bunch of small cheap robots and make them work together. If the enemy takes even 100 of them out you still have the rest of the swarm. I've seen a bunch of science shows about the concept... very cool stuff, but I think it's still a concept.

Both the Army and Air Force have been toying with these things for 20 years. But battery and camera tech. is finally starting to catch (Thanks to smartphones) up so they can get more then a few seconds of flight time out of them now and actually see whats going on. They are really cool because now a squad can checkout whats over the tree line or a small hill before actually going them selves.
