What happens to the people still running Limewire?
Can they still connect and use it? That runs in virtual space, right? Runs regardless of a mothership server...
... Or did they have the ability to just shut it all down? I'm curious.

Its all shut down. No connect at all, without the main content servers, its useless. That's why i uninstalled it and started simply torrenting for all my needs.

Limewire is notorious for viral infestation, I know from personal experience and from the experiences of friends.
It's a hackers paradise and as far as I'm aware you have to disable Norton to be able to download from Limewire.
Best avoid it.

Unfortunately, Limewire is all done. But there is an alternative called Frostwire. Just as good as limewire. Try it.
