I always got the occasional anomalous upload result - much higher than the line speed I pay my ISP for and results from the "no-VPN" control tests I run. Because these results only occurred occasionally, I could simply ignore them and retest. The problem, however, has got much worse of late. I have been forced to abandon using Testmy.net to test some VPN services because the upload result invariably returns much higher when using a VPN than my raw line speed allows. The simplest explanation for this is that the VPN services are using data compression, but I thought Testmy.net uses pre-compressed test files in order mitigate this issue?
