I think charter has too many people using the bandwidth since they told me everything was fine.
I want to switch to DSL for better pings in games but I currently have vonage.  Do I have to get rid of vonage and get a phone line to get dsl?  thanks

I have the same package and same situation. I have been using Vonage for a year now and would not think of going back.  What I do not understand is why Charter is still only at 3MB and all of the surrounding Atlanta area on Comcast is now at 8MB.

No longer do you have to have a actual voice line to get DSL ... several companies are now offering "dry loop" DSL which means you get a line just for DSL (and usually with better chances of a higher bitrate since there's no voice services interferring with it) and you can still use your Vonage service.
