My computer took 15 min to start up

26 October 2009 - 09:27 PM

Its getting really bad, I was starting at the motherboard screen for 10 min then it finally moves past that point by the grace of God.  In the past I had trouble with the motherboard malfunctioning and not allowing my computer to start up at all.  Thought I was past that point.  Even in windows It took extrememly long to load all the programs and such.  I built this thing not to long ago too sux that it is failing so bad.  I used to have major overheating problems as well where the computer would have to shut down before exploding, lol.  But its gotta be the motherboard right I mean my memory is fine I switched with other sticks, the processor I think would not be the problem, hard drive no, gotta be the motherboars slowly dieing.

Hows it going everyone, I wonder If anyone remembers me.  To be honest I forgot about this site after I got a new computer and lost all my information.  Also when I lost internet for a month I had to find other means of entertainment.  but I figured I would come back hear and introduce myself again and start learning some more about technology.

basically i want to buy a new hdtv for a xbox 360 or ps3 that i want to buy but i also want to purchase a monitor for my computer.  My question is can i hook up my monitor so that i can be used for my ps3/xbox360 as well as for my computer, atleast be able to switch between the two quickly.  Really im never going to be on the computer and play videogames at the same time.

I want to use the monitor/tv for hd aswell for the ps3/xbox 360

I had a power surge a few days ago and my computer was on so it instantly shut down but now when i try and start it up it only makes to the motherboard logo screen where it gives you option to go to bios or post screen, etc.  But when i clear the cmos i am able to go all the way to windows and the computer works like normal but if i do shut it down it will do the same thing again unless i clear cmos.

BTW i got a amd x2 4200
gigabyte ga-m61p-s3
2gigs kingston value ram

Can't use all speakers for sound

01 September 2007 - 09:24 AM

I have a 5.1 logitech speaker setup, and whenever i try and connect the first set of speakers a dialog comes up asking which speaker this is and i choose front left and right(which is right) but when i choose that option it automatically switches to digital output(i dont have digital speakers) so the only way i can get the speakers to work is to set the first two speakers as line in.  In that case all the other speakers work except for the first two ones becuase they are set as line in.  BTW i only have this problem with vista and not with xp.
