Alright, I need a little help guys!

28 November 2009 - 12:45 AM

Here's the situation. Network driver for my 680i LT is no longer working.
It's done this to me before, I have just forgot how to fix it.

I've uninstalled all nVidia traces
Ran driver sweeper
Flashed my BiOS - just playing around.
Reinstalled motherboard drivers

Windows then installs the network manager from nVidia
It was working fine until it decided to do that.
I've reset almost everything on the computer.
I've uninstalled from Device manager the network driver.
Even system restored.

Heres what I'm thinking is happening.
Every time I install the drivers I get network connection #2; #3; #4
But I don't get the normal 'Network connection'
How could I delete all the networks
When I don't even see Just the plain jane Network connection?

Believe me I've been on this for now close to 3 and a half hours.
Like I said before it's done this to me before.
I just don't know why it decided to do it again, and how I would fix it.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks TMN! [geek-small]

Alltel - Motorola Q9C - Internet Sharing

01 November 2008 - 12:07 AM

Alright, we recently moved just down the street into a awesome new home. And well were scared to go ahead and get internet, because our house payments rather high. So we went ahead and decided we should get a phone service, so at first we went with Sprint. I picked up their Samsung Rant's, because it was a buy one get one free. Sweet deal, sadly though I went through four of them, before we finally decided to go ahead and cancel their service. Their service was phenomenal, besides the point that the Samsung Rant was just not what I suspected. So we needed a phone, and decided to check out Alltel, and Verizon. We decided to go with Alltel, they had an unlimited package with 1200 minutes and 10 'circle numbers' who we could call any time we want for free. With the plan we chose, and the phone we got which was an amazing deal, the Motorola Q9C, which listed in the store for 550$, went on sale that day for 69$. So I was messing with the settings and found 'Internet sharing' well being the curious little kid I am, I found out that I could connect it to my computer and get a rather slow but, real internet! I'm used to 10Mb connection, but this'll do fine until we decide to go ahead and get Internet again.

Fine by me, they also offer a 30$ charge for a pairing connection, I found out also.
30$ is not bad for a 3Mb/2.5Mb Connection if you ask me.

//Service strength is horrible around my house. Two bars...

- Alltel sale's man tells me Verizon's buying up Alltel.

Microsoft XP downgrades extended to July 2009

It looks like Windows XP will have another extra 6 months before getting a neck-shot from Microsoft. Microsoft has extended its Windows XP downgrade program for six months past its original cutoff date, according to an email reportedly circulating among system builders. Though the company had originally set the XP pre-install option to shut down as of January 31st 2009, the new message is said to extend that deadline to July 31st. The official goal is to transition businesses, which were the original targets of the extension, over to Windows 7 by allowing them to buy new XP-based systems up to a point where the subsequent upgrade would demand Windows 7.

The delay if accurate would draw out the availability of XP for non-budget PCs until just months before the release of the next-generation Windows operating system expected in early 2010. The remaining window would be the smallest in recent memory where the current version of Windows was available exclusively.

Although Vista adoption has accelerated since computer makers have had to discontinue XP sales for consumer systems earlier in June, Microsoft has routinely struggled to counter negative perceptions formed early in Vista's history and has seen stiffer resistance from businesses whose software and hardware is more likely to be incompatible with the more recent Windows platform.

The original extension is commonly known to have stemmed from pressure by PC assemblers concerned that business sales would draw to a halt without guarantees of XP availability for some systems.

Seems to me that by holding it's hands around Windows XP and basically making consumers purchase Pre-installed Vista they did help themselves in the long run. Some of us are awaiting the arrival of Windows 7, but are still stuck on the horrible launch of Windows Vista that frankly were 'scared' of what lies ahead in Microsoft's lineup. I guess it really is a time for change, it's sad that they are dis-continuing coverage for Windows XP, but it has died like their other legacy operating systems. Onto a better and more efficient operating system.
