How long have you gone without sleep?

30 June 2006 - 08:36 PM

I've never been up for more than 2 days straight, but I want to see how long I can stay up. A friend bet me I couldn't stay up 5 days, so I wanna try and see if I indeed can go for 5 days. (Thats what summers for)

How long have you been up? Any stories? I hear it gets pretty crazy after awhile, like some people start hearing things that aren't there.

AT&T High Speed Internet Elite Package

21 June 2006 - 06:16 AM

I saw that AT&T offers a package that has downloads speeds of 3.0 to 6.0 Mbps and uploads of 384 to 608. What does this gurantee? I've got rr now and they say up to 8/512 and I generally get close. But when AT&T says 3-6, do this mean (in ideal conditions, like distance) that people get like 5.5, or like a little above 3? I'm looking for posts of people that have the elite package, how far they are from the co and how they like their service. I am about 11700 feet from the co according to broadband reports, what kind of speeds can i get with a distance like that?

Heads up...aim virus

15 June 2006 - 03:53 PM

Just got this message from a person on my aim buddy list
(don't click the below link)
they're talking about us on myspace

[ link ]

I was dumb enough to click the link because it was from a trusted friend. Apparently it sends that link to everyone on your buddy list, besides that I'm not if does any damage. Luckily Kaspersky seems to have caught it right away.

Has anybody else seen or heard of this?

Wireless Question

13 June 2006 - 08:37 AM

I need to get an antenna on my roof for my wireless network. Right now I've determined it would be cheaper to just run the cable for the antenna to the roof rather than put the whole router and everything in a weather proof box. Question is how far can I run the cable for the antenna? I understand that it looses some amount of signal the further it is run, but how much? If it matters it will be rp-sma.

RP-SMA Antenna

24 May 2006 - 08:06 PM

Any recommendations? I'm looking for an omni-directional for my whr-g54s(rp-sma). Also what do you guys think about upgrading the antenna on a router? Is it worth it? I think I read that the standard antenna on a router is about 2dbi, but I've seen ones for sale that would work that are 9dbi and reasonably priced. Will going from 2 to 9 improve my signal and coverage?
