Narrowing of the American mind?
There is a grave danger for American democracy that the two parties not only can't agree, they can't even discuss.
Left and right live in their little ghettos of the mind, unwilling to listen to anything that doesn't reinforce their own views. If you only hear what your opponents are
thinking through the warp of second-hand caricatures, then there is no chance of understanding their point of view.
Thinking gets trapped within a very narrow box - one that often bears little relation to problems in the real world.

Hey Roco ,
I hope your New Year is starting off as good as mine. In my last community email I mentioned I had a baby girl due. I'm proud to announce our healthy baby girl Makenna was born 11-21-11 9lbs 5oz and surprises us every day. I took some time off but with a New Year comes new features and someone has to build them.
To help show my appreciation for the 82,000 people who have taken the time to sign up. Registered members now have NO ADS on their results pages. If you enjoy the cleaner look I hope that you pass the site along to a friend.

I am sure Damon wont mind me sharing his community news/e-mail .
I just wanted to say thanks for the knowledge , Friends found,
and even filling in the odd hours for me ,and raising a smile , and at times my blood pressure,
my comment , great to read the news
"healthy baby girl Makenna was born 11-21-11 9lbs 5oz and surprises us every day."
Bro, she won't thank you for being born so close to Christmas , ( Christmas kids get less presents ? )
9lbs 5oz wow bet her Mom was surprised ?
BTW I was born ( not in a cabbage patch as often suggested ) at 5Lbs 2 oz , but grew some to 6ft 2in.
(very fertile soil in the channel Islands , they grow cabbages 6 ft tall) *
Treasure you daughter, I still do mine , she is still my baby, lol but at now 38 she may question that ?
Best regards

Technical news ?
10 January 2012 - 04:52 PM
well it is to me in the UK, on the 25th Jan 2012 , I am getting FTTC @ 40 Mbps down
and 2Mbps up ,
sure going to beat my 4Mbps , and at no extra cost, fibre is laid to the cabinet 50 yards away ,
am I a rural user ? nope,I live in London the UK's capital city ,
Why am I now getting fibre ? =Olympic games being hosted in the city in 199 days time ,
I guess the Government couldn't face the embarrassment of visitors getting not much better than 56K dial up ,indeed every cloud has a silver lining ,
no doubt TMN test will get some pasting in Feb ,
I might even post my score ,sure going to beat my TT adsl score ,
which is 210% above my ISP avearage , thanks to the hints and tips from TMN ,
my new ISP BT ,( British Telecommunications)the oldest provider in the world ,
maybenot a stunning post to many but a big deal for me ,
My first ISP change in 10 years, sarted off with Pipe X ,the originator of BB , running on BT wires
my first BB was 128 Kbps , and cost a fortune back then ,
now my future 40 Mbps is cheaper than 1999 prices ,
