Windows Automatic update

Morning Everyone.

I have two issues going on at the moment. I'm on an hp vista 32 bit laptop and every time windows comes up with an update i try to search and or install and it always fails. I checked the Microsoft website and what it told me to erase the software distribution folder and now i can not even search for any updates at all. Before i did that fold erase i would get an error code of 0x80070003. If anyone can offer some help on this topic that would be great.  Another issue i have, i just purchased a new monitor for my desktop that has a dvi connection to my desktop, and then i have that computer setup as a dual monitor  to a larger tv that is not always on. Can you view the bios via a dvi connection or does it have to be viewed via the regular connection?

I received an 8bg iso containg files to boot onto my computer however my drive does not support a dual layer burner and i was wondering if there is any way to get into this iso and turn it into two consecutive bootable discs.

MY computer recently got hit by a major virus ( not sure what it is) but i need to restore vista home premium and my recovery partition is no longer in existence and this is what hp told me to use to restore my computer. now i have a set of recovery discs on the way but i have been waiting for more than a month to receive them and i was wondering if anyone knows anything about a way to restore the recovery partition or reinstalling vista freely. Thanks any help would be greatly appreciated

ok my friend is on the 6 meg plan with comcast and he is testing on these servers and getting 24 meg down here are the stats

yea hi i have a friend who is running the 6 meg package but cant get higher than 4.8 but he is on the modem dcm315. so i was wondering if ne1 could tell me how high those modems can handle speed wise. thank you
