Is this a proper ip setup assigned from DHCP

Is this a proper ip setup assigned from DHCP

I have been having problems with My ip changing from a 12.xxx. ip to a 173.xxx. ip address after a power outage or whenever mediacom has an Internet outage. The setup I end up with is as follows:

IP             173.16.61.xxx
S Mask     255.255.254.0
Gateway   173.16.60.1
DNS          I use Open Dns as Mediacom's dns servers suck

I have bypassed router, changed nic, modem,  etc. Have the same results. My speeds go
down and I am unable to use many of my services, one of which is my internet phone.
The only way I can make things work is to go back and enter my previous ip info
manually as if it were "static".  At this point I can get to the Walledgarden site to reset my "sticky ip" and set everything back to "auto".  Customer support was a wasted call as usual.

Anyone have any ideas what is going on here?

My Shoutcast/steamcat stream bandwith being hacked?

10 July 2008 - 07:15 PM

I have had a live stream on the net for some years now. I use it to test different encoders and other ways to improve the audio. I only keep a limited number of slots open due to legal stuff and bandwith issues. I hate to ban or block someone that is on to listen, but when I find abuse I have no problem turnig off tha lights.
Below are three users I have been having problems with. those familiar with Shoutcast, steamcast, etc should understand. II support most user agents "Media Players" but in the pas few days have been getting some that look more like a Mac address and a normal player. Normally I would just ban the player in question and forget the issue. well this one is different cause it UA is different each time a client logs on. I only picked 3 from today to show. The interesting trace is #2. I would really like to know what they are trying

anyway here is what I got.....

These are the log entry ip's and below are the traces....

Embedded Web Browser?

03 August 2007 - 05:25 PM

Question about embedded web browser

I noticed sometime ago when checking my stream logs oline that I am using an "embedded web browser" I see the same thing here on my test results.
User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1;  Embedded Web Browser from: http://bsalsa.com/; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Media Center PC 4.0) [!]
Does anyone know anything about this? How it is installed or what programs use it, etc. I reinstalled ie7 and get same results Have seen it on a few other test results here.

The SaveNetRadio Coalition

12 May 2007 - 03:02 AM

The future of Internet radio is in immediate danger. If you are a Webcaster, Musician, or just like to listen to internet radio this law will have a dramatic impact on YOU.  Royalty rates for webcasters have been drastically increased by a recent ruling and are due to go into effect on July 15 (retroactive to Jan 1, 2006!). If the increased rates remain unchanged, the majority of webcasters large and small will go bankrupt and silent on this date. Internet radio needs your help! The Internet Radio Equality Act has recently been introduced in both the House (H.R. 2060) and Senate (S. 1353) to save the Internet radio industry. Let your voice be heard. Please call or email your senators and your representative to ask them to co-sponsor the Internet Radio Equality Act by clicking below.

You cannot post such a large image with a link in it. It violates our rules, I am not sure about the rest of this post. I will leave it intact but next time I wouldnt make it seem like such an ad- Shug7272
