mudmanc4 ,low or normal weight(that's what you have built up to & can lift easily) with a high number of reps build endurance & tone. They like any exercise have some effect on muscle mass but not as much.
heavyweight & low to medium reps build muscle mass. Here the slower & more controled the lift the better.
This has to do with what Roco posted about low twitch & fast twitch fibers.
I have not yet read all of the .PDF I'm posting the link to.What I have read appears a method for naturally raising & maintaing testosterone level. It is against steroid use at least so far.If it changes then my bad for not reading it all first. It also promotes the authors book to some degree.
I do intend to read it all as I have time.So do read it with a skeptical eye.

On the calf fries I also call them mountain oysters.I always thought they got the name from people that lived far from the ocean & they do look a bit like oysters especially cooked.

it never got answered , What is a bucket of calf fries ?
and no I don't do spiff either ,
Coknuck knew.
For those that need a explaination:
The are calf testicles. The usual cooking method is batter dipped & deep fried.
The bucket was a comparison to a bucket of chicken like Colonel Sanders Kentucky FriedChicken.
Unfortunately the Colonel doesn't serve a bucket of calf fries.
For those a little deeper into cowboy culture:
A mass castration of calfs born in winter is done during spring roundup. This makes the calfs grow into steers.Very few are selected to be bulls.
The testicles are usually put in a bucket of cold salt water. At the end of the day they are cooked into calf fries. Some old timers also roast some on the branding fire.
Some resturants in my area serve them but usually on a plate not in a bucket.A few butcher shops also have them. But this is seasonal for both.
The best ones I ever ate were fresh from a ranch.Brought to a place I worked by the nephew of a rancher who also worked there. After hours me & my fellow workers fried & ate about 3 gallons of calf fries.
wyantm06 , a rep is repetition.So 5 reps is 5 times or 5 lifts of the weight.
Roco what is spiff ?

So far it's 100% against using steroids. That should tell you something.
Now if you want to eat the occasional bucket of calf fries that's completely different.

I'm still using IE7 most of the time.I'm satisfied with it.I may eventually update to IE8.Waiting for more bugs to be worked out of it.
I also have Opera & FireFox to use if I need them.

I'm going to jump on the bandwagon with the rest on the not using steroids.
I have posted I'm for the Atkin's diet for weightloss. It is a high protein diet.
Keep that in mind a high protein diet results in weightloss.
So a balanced diet with fats & carbs too is better for adding mass .Muscle or fat.
The difference in which you get is exercise.
Weightlifting is the best for adding musclemass. You just need to slowly & carefully increase the weights.
The bulk will come.
Here is something for you to keep in mind so you don't increase them too fast.
Recently an athlete I think a college football player.Had the weights slip while benchpressing. He crushed his lyrnyx. After several surgeries he may be able to talk again.
So I think weight benches should be redesigned with a safety bar to stop the weights from dropping all the way to the neck.If you have a weight machine instead this probably couldn't happen.
So do keep safety in mind weights can be dangerous.
