In Vegas I pay $71.46 for 12 Mbps down and 1.5 Mbps up account... We are going to DOCSIS 3 so I presume my monthly charge will rise again very soon...
You want to look at this: Jeffrey M. O'Brien at Fortune magazine is the latest American with a sluggish DSL connection to suffer from Asian broadband envy, noting that Hong Kong provider City Telecom offers symmetrical 100 Mbps broadband service for about $13 a month. What's more, the ISP offers these users a money back guarantee: if they don't see at least 80% of their promised speed, their ISP pays them. Twice the amount the user paid for service. 391,000 subscribers are enjoying a quick $13 a month Internet service, and the company increased their revenues 34%...
Cloud computing works in a good percentage of Asian and European cities with their faster Internet service, but here in the US we have a long way to go before we have the speeds to have access to the types of services they take for granted...
City Telecom offers a guarantee? Can you imagine watching entertainment on-line without interruption, or buffering or they pay you?
kevin516, you do not have our speeds and we have features that you will enjoy some time in the future, maybe you will get lucky and have City Telecom start building a internet infrastructure in your immediate future...

Reporting from Las Vegas, I do not have a DOCSIS 3 modem yet, I have ordered one and it should arrive tomorrow. With the new Motorola SB6120 I am anxious to discover what speeds I can secure as some of the testers here in the Vegas Valley are reporting 50-70 Mbps and some are close to 100 Mbps.
The local web page has been changed and with the new pages the 1.5 Mbps has disappeared, now only two tiers of service - 10 Mbps and 18 Mbps. 10 Mbps and 18 Mbps is what Arizona and Souther Cal have had the last two years, so it seems Vegas will still not be moving up enough to notice unless you are running three of four computers simultaneously behind a router, then the extra 6 Mbps of service certainly will assist...
I pay for 12 Mbps and normally get 10 Mbps but the cable is a bit older in my area and with the wind and heat there are weeks when I go down 3 or 4 times a week...
My results...

What about the The 2006 Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) that continues to be sought by powerful lobbyist? I am certain this will please the music and movie industry, but will kill freedom and a good amount of innovation, and drive an underground economy...
