OK, heres a puzzler for everyone!

I have a PC with Win2k and IE6.
Fully patched scanned and clean.

If I come to testmy.net via IE6 The page will display then the IE6 window freezes. I can wait 30 minutes and nothing happens.
Everything - I mean everything - even simple links. If I try to close the window I get the wonderful MS  "Not responding" window. 

So far (please keep in mind I do not do much browsing) this only occurs on testmy.net. and a few other sites.

I have no problems with firefox... 

I have googled the problem and nothing is really helpful.
I have uninstalled every possible "plug in" and "toolbar" (java, google, etc)
I have uninstalled ie6 and reinstalled.
I have uninstalled using Ieradicator and reinstalled
I have scanned using spybot, hijackthis, adaware, AVG, blacklight you name it.
I ran a windows repair.
I have re-registered all the pertinent .dll's (urlmon, etc)

The problem still remains.

Ideas?  ...other than the "Just use Firefox then..."  response?  I do need IE6 to function and it is a convenience thing -  when using IE6 for the IE required sites - sometimes I open testmy.net and of course I get locked up.

Been playing with one of my T1's from XO

My download speed is a flat 1.5  but my upload is always less than 750    .

Are there any cablenut .ccs's that anyone would recommend?

Strange problem that I would like some ideas on -

My users randomly lose name resolution or ability to find websites.
Pinging a site returns incorrect IP information.
Internal network connection(s) still run fine.

I can restore funtionality by:
a. rebooting
or
b. Disabling the network connection in windows, then enabling it again
or
c. using windows xp repair


Small network - 15 or so users.
Windows Domain - PDC to ISP through Cisco
Most Users are XP/DHCP

I thought it was virus/spyware.  I cleaned and clean and scanned and scanned and found very little. Nothing to mention.  Then the problem went away for a few days. 

Now it is back.

Ideas?

I applied all the tips in stickies after copius reading.

I have Road runner Cable (supposedly 5000/384)
I setup Cnut with version7 settings Cable 4000/384. (I have also tried 6000/384)

My speeds did increase but there are some strage artifiacts:

Whereas my speeds previously were incredibly stable (4200/350) now there is a wide range of testing speeds:   3200/200  through 4750/378 (below are clipboards of sequential tests....)

It seems that initial web page loads have noticible "lag"  and  there are  pauses/lags in lagre page loads.even on various speed tests  instead of being a fluid progress i seems to run in busts
This laggy/pulsy behaviour was not present before using cablenut.

All specifications look good:  ping times, ttl, data rates except for this stange phenoimenon.

Any insights?
