The site is in the middle of a server upgrade.  If you see any downtime it's a result of this upgrade.  During the process of transferring the data sometimes this causes the mySQL database server to overload and crash, which is why you may see heavy errors.  I'm almost done with transfer, I spent most of last night working on this and the job should be completed today.  So sit tight and I'm sorry for any downtime.

After it's all done I'll make a post letting you all know what the specs of the new server are.  I will say one word though.... QUAD CORE XEON.... well that's three words.  HAHA

I'll let you all know when it's all done.

ah so he got a custom setup.

The only other thing I can think of, is they gave him a dual processor quad core xeon, and maybe some more bandwidth.

It would be nice tho if they would give him a 1Gbps connection.  angel

Thats a No on that one.

None of the Big Server hosts are doing IPv6 Yet. By the end of the year some of them will be.

Just an update for this topic.  We've actually picked up another even newer server and the site is now running on it.  It's a dual-core Xeon 3060 and we now have 4GB of RAM and have also upgraded the HDD's to two 146GB 10,000RPM SCSI/SAS... with 3ms seek time (vs the 8ms seek time of the old 250GB SATA drives) all queries to the server are sped up and with the thousands of database queries that testmy.net gets every second this makes a nice difference.  The newest server is also back in the Dallas datacenter instead of the lame Houston datacenter (which was actually the whole reason why I ordered another new server so soon, many people were getting terrible routing to the last server and it was effecting the accuracy of their speed tests... but this newest server has completely cleared up all those issues).  So far, since the release of the new server we've gotten nothing but positive feedback.  So, thank you again for you're patience while I fixed the headaches with that last server.. This new server ROCKS!
