this game series is kinda stupid if the main point is to kill people with gory methods....its like the saw movies though....too much gore, not enough plot....or anything else...
I kinda see what you're saying but the whole gimmick of the game isn't just to be a gore fest. It's a different style of FPS that makes it unique there is no running and gunning it's made for the scare factor and the fact that you can use the environment in creative ways to save your hide.
