I am also a newbie DirecWay customer (had it for about 1 month now) and I, too, have experience the ups and downs of speed from day to day. I have also noticed that I can go from aroud 400k to about 1000k in the same hour! Every now and then if my speeds seem to get stuck in a rut I will shut down my computer and turn of my DW6000 and leave it off for about 5 minutes then turn everything back on and most of the time my speeds will come back up to around 950k (sometimes 1100k if I am lucky). I am beginning to think that this is just the way its going to be. My signal strength always stays at around 65 to 70. Never lost a connection before, thank godness. Wish I could help you but I just dont know enough about the technical stuff.
