this router is a G... i think it is 54mbps that said on the box.... what can i doo to speed up mi internet? what about this think called cablenut??

hey i just figured out that in my other pc that is conected to my wireless router with a cable has 4.0mbps and this pc has only 2.8mbps this pc is conected to the router wirelessly may that slow the speed? help please my router is a D-link please help meee thanks!
