  2. Who is your DSL provider? what speeds are you getting?
  3. Here is my upload test: :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 530 Kbps about 0.5 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB) Upload Speed is:: 65 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1) Test Time:: Thu Nov 10 2005 08:06:11 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 9X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 15.75 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 100.76 % faster than the average for host (pacbell.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-PNA1920QD *I would also like to say that with the help of the SBCDirect Forum at Broadband Reports, I have been getting consistent download speeds. I commend them for their troubleshooting efforts and helping in whatever way they can. If you ever have a problem, go to them. I've been consistently getting these speeds: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 4886 Kbps about 4.9 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 596 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Thu Nov 10 2005 08:09:51 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 87X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.72 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 179.52 % faster than the average for host (pacbell.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-10YFP7SOQ
  4. It's also very inconsistent, like this taken a minute ago: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 2225 Kbps about 2.2 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 272 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Wed Nov 09 2005 16:59:46 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 40X faster than 56K 1MB download in 3.76 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 27.8 % faster than the average for host (pacbell.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-EWL1UGB6P
  5. I have SBC and upgraded as well. My speeds are not as good as I hoped for..but this is DSL, and for that I guess ok. :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 4753 Kbps about 4.8 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 580 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Wed Nov 09 2005 16:54:26 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 85X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.77 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 173 % faster than the average for host (pacbell.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-M195BYAPF
  6. I restarted the modem: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 2530 Kbps about 2.5 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 309 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Sun Sep 11 15:15:43 PDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 45X faster than 56K 1MB download in 3.31 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 40.24 % faster than the average for host (pacbell.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-C1RIH3M9J
  7. I have SBC Yahoo Pro but it doesn't always perform well. Sometimes it can be at 315kbps and at other times, like now, it's at this: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 687 Kbps about 0.7 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 84 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Sun Sep 11 2005 13:35:14 GMT-0700 (Pacific Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 12X faster than 56K 1MB download in 12.19 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 38.1 % of your hosts average (pacbell.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-32KUWLF7Y I don't really get it...then in about probably 3 hours it'll be back to normal. This has been happening ever since the upgrade back in the beginning of july. I just wanted to know if this is normal or a problem.
  8. :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 2522 Kbps about 2.5 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 308 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Fri Sep 02 2005 15:40:13 GMT-0700 (Pacific Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 45X faster than 56K 1MB download in 3.32 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 39.11 % faster than the average for host (pacbell.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-R1U864BAZ I hope that soon they'll offer a higher speed package.
  9. So it's just a signal then...I only ask because recently it went from 3.4-6.4 and now floating around 7, we upgraded to sbc yahoo pro and I was just curious if that was a result of the upgrade or if that's just normal...although our download speeds are still the same they said we have to wait 10 days for the optimization period.
  10. I saw this on our router modem page and was wondering what it means: Current Output Power: 7.2 dB (Downstream), 6.4 db (Upstream) ^does that have anything to do with download and upload speed?
  11. I've had a few problems with sbc yahoo dsl express...especially since upgrading to the pro plan...as you can see I'm not even at the 1.5mbps minimum and a far cry from 3.0mbps. I'm only 5,000 feet from the Co and I've tried every tweak available, fortunately their "dedicated" staff has yet to figure out what the problem is...they claim my line can handle 8mbps. The cheap price reflects their service! :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 1315 Kbps about 1.3 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB) Download Speed is:: 161 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1) Test Time:: Mon Jun 27 2005 14:47:31 GMT-0700 (Pacific Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 23X faster than 56K 1MB download in 6.36 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 79.5 % of your hosts average (pacbell.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-YTGSN5E96
  12. Thanks, I'll check that right now.
  13. yes, I've done the tweaks...my dad called sbc, apparently they're going to fix the problem.
  14. My parents upgraded to Sbc's pro package (1.5-3.0mbps)...any ways the router page states that we are at that speed, however when I do a download test we are at the same speed as we were before: Broadband Link Connection Speed:
