  1. Have you tried tweaking it yet datatechnician?

I've tried some Linux tweaks on this machine (SuSe Linux) awhile back and I really didn't notice anything different.

I again contacted Hughes support and engineering is supposed to call me back. I've already had one call back from engineering.

If they call again I am asking for a transponder change as it is evident G-11 1370 has some serious issues. I have spoken with others on G-11 1370 and there speeds are dismal like mine.

  2. Have you tried tweaking it yet datatechnician?

I  haven't done any tweaks on this machine. It is running SuSe Linux 10.0  .(The one I use the Most) I do use two other computers that run 2000pro. however speed results using either the Linux machine or any of the windows 2000 computers yield the same results.

The Windows Computers all have Prolands Protector Plus Antivirus program and Adaware. All have been scanned (yesterday) and all is clean.

  3. yes , the computer is clean  .

I called again and made it to engineering. I again was told the speeds are considered normal and they would do nothing further. (Nice)

Since I,ve seen posts from people on the consumer plan getting downloads better than mine I had them downgrade me to the consumer plan. I can always go back to the pro plan if I want.

I even suggested a transponder change but they didn't go for that.

  4. Everything seems grounded properly. I have thought about redoing the grounding and I guess I should check the connectors. I replaced the connectors about 5 months ago with compression type instead of the crimp type which BTW did improve signal strength. This started a couple weeks ago. I've had the 7000 for 5 months after upgrading from the 4000 which I had since 2001.

What is strange is one test may show great UL and DL while the next  test will show much lower download. here is a few from today..only minutes apart..

I will wait another day to see what happens . I did email them again. I received a reply to contact advanced support.

Uploads have been all over the place and download speed has went up a little. System was very stable up until about 2 weeks ago and varies greatly from one test to another. Spoke with support and they admit overcrowding (at least on my satellite, G-11)

  6. My speeds using the DW7000 modem have been awfull to say the least. I have spoken to support several times and they will not escallate me any further than tier 2 saying they have done all they can do and the speeds I cuurently get would be considered normal

I do not think these speeds are normal for a Pro account..
