  1. I just ran upload speed test and noticed that my upload speed went from under 90kB/s to over 100kB/s. I don't know if that is a glitch or that's how it suppose to be.

    ::::::::::.. Upload Stats ..::::::::::

    Upload Connection is:: 1377 Kbps about 1.4 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

    Upload Speed is:: 168 kB/s

    Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Server 1)

    Test Time:: 2007/06/14 - 2:36pm

    Bottom Line:: 24X faster than 56K 1MB Upload in 6.1 sec

    Tested from a 2992 kB file and took 17.797 seconds to complete

    Upload Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 186.28 % faster than the average for host (Comcast.net)

  2. It quiet pointless to upgrade just download. Download from many websites is limited to upto 500kb/s which can be achieved with any 6m comcast connection. The only advantage of 8m connection over 6m connection that comcast provides is doubled upload speed. I would really like if they doubled their upload speed on 6m from 384 to 768 and 8m from 756 to 1512

  3. hmm.. updated firmware right?  The speed drop would be due to the download.. but not being able to surf the internet afterwards doesnt make sense.. what bit torrent client are you using?

    the frimware was updated to the newest one. I used bittornado and azures for downloading, same thing happens using either one of them. At first I thought It was happening to the computer that I was downloading it on but apparently it was either slowing or killing interenet on the network. I know the speed would be decreased with bittorent but still it should load interent pages in web browser. As I recall when bittorrent was downloading over 200kB/s it was instant death to web browser all most none of the web pages would load. I have wired router and thing is great, I can go 500kB/s combine or single and still browser internet at decent speeds.

  4. So, so far I had two wireless g routers, one from linksys wrt54gx v1 and belkin f5d7231-4. I set up port forwarding on these routers so I don't have problems connecting. The problem starts when bittorent strarts downloading stuff, the web browser can't connected to sites or becomes really slow. Even after download is done there is still slowiness and lack of connectivity in web browser. The only way I was able to fix that problem was by rebooting. I know it has to do something to do with these routers. I have wired router and that one doesn't have any problems like that.  Currently I have belkin model and I don't really know what to do with it.

  5. I guess I can post my Log

  6. I am tring to find out what wrong with my connection which goes slow aroud 6pm. So far I had one comcast tech check singal, whch turn out fine. Speed wise everything is fine till 5pm then the speed starts slowing down to about the third of it. Since I own my own modem I can't request comcast to swipe them, though I don't think that it is the modem.

    So can you post Log from motorola 5100, I don't know if this will be usefull to me, but I would appreicate it. Mine is always like failure to acquire something, time out

  7. So my 6m connection got little slower maybe 3-4m range, this wouldn't be bad but my ping like to yahoo.com or google.com got to over 100ms. Usually  in the morning my ping to websites that I mention is like 33ms but over the day it get worse and worse. I even stopped playing online games. I called comcast and they will send somebody to me. So what do I make tech look for. I know it's nothing wrong on my side (I think)

  8. where do I start. Did I mention that my 6M comcast Cable connection is Slow. I get about 3M, few days ago I was getting 4M when I ran speed test on testmy.net. This wouldn't speed wouldn't be bad, not many people are able to utilize 3m, 4m or 6m connection. The worst part is the ping. My yahoo ping increased from average 33ms to average 130+ms, I ran dsl reports and the ping averages over 100ms. I play online unrealtournament and all of the servers have high pings, usually on these servers I have so much lag that the only thing I can do is disconnect. If I get bittorent the max it can go is like 150kb/s dowload with 5kb/s upload and at this point regular internet doesn't work, some messages comes out

    "operation time out"

    so far what I did

    I power cycle modem (motorola 5100)

    scanned for viruses and spyware

    tried my desktop and my laptop same thing happens, it happens when connected to the router and modem

    got firefox

    since I have router I tried connecting through router and directly through cable modem, no successs

    I don't know what to do next
