Can your modem to pppoe?

I would be afraid to mess with any reg settings right now because those scores are beyond perfect.

Am I missing something or are getting speeds over the advertised speed?

You could call verizon and ask someone to perform a line test and he could give you a distance estimate. You could also check at http://www.broadbandreports.com/prequal/distance . Usually the distance verizon gives is more accurate than that test. I wouldn't say that verizon lied because it's up to 1.5 which could mean anything below 1.5.

No problem. I had a similar problem before just a week ago. I thought I was under sbc's 1.5 package but it turned out I was only getting 384. I talked to a tech and he manage to bump the sync rate to 1.5. If you're lucky, a tech will be able to do the same.

It looks like your sync rate isn't up to the full 1500. Like I said before, if you live too far away from the CO, verizon won't give the full 1500 because it will cause problems. That guy didn't lie to you because he said up to 1500 which includes 896. You'll have to call verizon and talk to a tech to see if it's possible to bump up your sync rate. You're getting a decent speed right now since your dsl rate is only 869.

Yeah, go to the modem settings.. Does it look anything like this? http://www.broadbandreports.com/faq/7036 If it does, go up to the step 5 and tell me the dsl rate.

Check the back of the router and see if there's something that says "advanced modem configuration"(or something like that). After that there might be an address like http://192.168.0.1 (just an example) Tell me if does.

There's a chance that verizon put you under a profile of 786 instread of 1500 because you live too far away. A profile of 1500 might have not be stable enough for your area. I'm actually not sure if verizon does this, but I'm sure SBC does. Maybe you should call and ask.

Actually, I don't need any more help. I just figured out why my dsl is so slow. A few days ago I went to my internet provider's forum and I asked why my speed was so slow compared to other people and one of the techs told me what happened. I turns out that when I ordered my dsl package 2 years ago, they were only offereing a 384 Kbps connection. In those 2 years, they upgraded their dsl to 1.5Mbps and discontinued the old 384Kbps package that I'm using at the moment. People who had the 384 Kbps package weren't upgraded by default and kept the same 384 Kbps package. The tech told me he would try to upgrade my line for free to 1.5Mbps but since I live too far away from their facilities they would only be able to get it up to 768 Kbps. It's still good though. He couldn't do it at the moment because there's something wrong with my phonebox since it's really old so it has to be replaced. I'll have to wait untill then so it could be upgraded.
