  1. Oh man, I am stoked.

    Decided to try the new upgraded speeds for COX in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.

    These seem really good to me, considering we just jumped from max DLs of 5 Megs to this.

    Download Speed is:: 1853 kB/s

    Tested From:: https://testmy.net  (main)

    Test Time:: 2006/03/13 - 8:33pm

    Tested from a 12160 kB file and took 6.562 seconds to complete

    Also our UL speeds have been increase to advertised 2 Megs.

    I can not quite get the full 2 Megs, but am happy with this.

    We were at 700K prior to the new upgrades.

  2. Is there any differences between a Cable CSS and a Fiber Optic CSS?

    I have Cox Cable new premier 15/2 service.

    I am using a CSS designed for use with Verizon FIOS, file is named Verizon_fios_DHCP_15000_2000.css

    What fields should I change if any, to optimize this for use on a cable connection?

    I am currently getting results like the following, but they fluctuate pretty wildly.

    Have seen them jump from 4M all the way to this high of 9M

    :::.. Download Stats ..:::

    Connection is:: 9146 Kbps about 9.1 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB)

    Download Speed is:: 1116 kB/s

    Tested From:: https://testmy.net (server1)

    Test Time:: Mon Feb 13 06:14:50 EST 2006

    Bottom Line:: 163X faster than 56K 1MB download in 0.92 sec

    Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 122.42 % faster than the average for host (cox.net)

    Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-GXOCE9BJU

    My upload speeds also jump all around, but generally sit around 1.6 to 1.8M

    Any help in this is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance for any help.

  4. WOW, these are fast to me.

    I am mostly impressed woth the Upload speeds.

    This is not even the highest they are offering. Cox in my area is now offering 15Mbps Upload and 2Mbps Download.

    I am actually thinking of paying more for the higher speeds, just to have it :)

    Anyone know where I can find a Cable Nut formula that is supposed to work for 5Mbps DL / 2Mbps UL speeds?

    Mostly for the Upload speed to see if I can get it to the 2Mbps speed.

    Thanks in advance for any help

  5. Thanks folks.

    Any tips on how to increase my upload speed a bit, without decreasing my DL speeds?

    I actually have Cable Nut loaded to obtain these results, I am using CCS labeled Cable & DSL 3500 384.

    Cox cable actually advertises my connection at 4000 DL and 384 UL.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Anyone have any ideas how to exceed the caps? Is there a legal way to do that?

    I know the Premium subscription allows upto 5000 DL, just wondering.

    Thanks again

  6. I listen to it every Sat that I can, its on for like 3 or 4 hours depending on what area you are in.

    Usually only get to listen for 30 minutes each weekend if that.

    Its good stuff for newbs basically. Every so often she has some cool news I have not heard about.
