BTW , when are you guys going ISO metric ,  ? I am getting tired of firing up a conversion App  to convert temps & distance etc

Then move to this side of the pond, problem solved. <wink>

  2. Platters to 8 tracks to cassette .........  :toothy6:

You still enjoy it, just not as big a rush as it used to be. More things get higher importance as you get older. Kids and what they are into, whats for lunch, where you gonna vacation this year, etc ..........

My big passion was engines and old cars ......... still is but not the only thing in my blood anymore is all. :read:

  3. Right, a mans right to hunt should never be gone. I agree. And believe me if I want to kill you I can do as well with a shothgun at any decent range. What I said does not eliminate guns, only concealed and auto ones. Not necesary really. IMHO again of course.

If I want a thrill there are guns which have enough kick to make one stagger without those two types to enjoy, if I want to enjoy auto I can easily join the military and use one often when needed ........ and that should be the legal way. If I want to shoot a pistol why not be a cop with a  badge and liscense. IMHO again.

  4. Why do we need yellow cheese or green lettuce ?

Because green cheese and brown lettuce are discusting.

Why do we need coins of all sizes and denominations ?

So the checker can make change.

Why do we need different styles of compound bow ?

For different price, quality, and efficiency.

I mean really why do we allow stamp collections or pez dispenser collections ?

To help keep kiddies off the streets at night. :toothy6:

    more than one car ?

So we can fart in it without the wifey complaining.  :tongue2:

More than one toilet in the house ?

With women in the house that is self explanatory. :read:

What about more then 8 planets ?

To kee balance in the solar system.

Until we fix what is wrong with the country and planet, no banning of anything will prevent even one death anywhere.

Well maybe on the next pres election we will get it right for once.   :afro:

... while the incompetent in washington allow God , and all morals to be dealt away with, ....

hard to argue with that one.

...  let alone allow a very small handful of men to decide what we eat , wear and what it will cost us.

Wait, that is my soon to be ex wifes job. :biggun:

  5. I used hughes satelite for years, and the first problem I saw looking at your tests is the test you are using is way too small. It will give small speeds. Honest. Don't go with less than a 3mb size test. It takes over a mb to just get warmed up.

And I have to be honest also, hughes never gave burst speeds in the day. So not sure on that one. And if I am correct boost is usually with D/L ..... no?

As far as how does satelite work it flies 20,000 miles up and the same back to make speed. And that is what the lag of satelite is, and unstoppable at any speed. Here is an example.

Also making sure the modem is grounded of static helped a lot, and I did it everytime I turned the computer on, besides disk clean and defrag. Yes daily routine.

    Hope that helped. :read:

  6. You just joined the other day and already have 13,000+ posts! :evil6:

Well it did take quite a few hours of hard work, maybe I should slow down and let others catch up. :cheesy:

I miss suggy bear, he was the only one to ban me.

  7. Welcome aboard, I'd say I am fairly new too .................. but no doubt someone wouild say that is a huge untruth. :toothy6: Welcome to TMN. :read:

PS ........... what are warning points? Never noticed that before and not everyone has them? How do they get earned?

  8. I do not know if how many people know this about Microsoft / windows 8. I live alone and I am the only person that uses my computer so I wanted to remove the password from my admin account so I do not have to keep typing one in. I went into the user accounts to remove the password and I get a prompt telling me that I can change over to a local account or I can change the password but that Microsoft / windows 8 will not let me, Not have a password on Windows 8 for the Microsoft account that come with it. So I called Microsoft and talked to a support tech and they would not tell me if it could be removed, and I was told that it was their for my security , Now I think being 49 years old that I could decide if I want security or not. mudmanc4 this is another reason for you to hate MICROSOFT....

    Did you try this one?

Sometimes .... google actually works. :read: I don't have windows 8 yet, so I hope it works. Let me know. K? :azn:

  9. I believe Hughes with their Gen4 service took away the unlimited bandwidth usage during the night, and you now have a bonus bucket of bytes each night. So, if you run large downloads during the night, best to let you know about that so you aren't stuck at sub-dial up speeds under the FAP.

That sounds like Hughes. always short sheeting someone some how. :read:
