  1. That's my biggest complaint right now is their lack of "enthusiasm".  Not only did the guy not explain to me that they would be doing upgrades (I signed up for the cable internet 2 days before they started), but the IT guys keep giving me the "they are upgrading the system, and I don't know when they will be done."  What the hell kind of IT guy is that.  Furthermore, there is no mention of the changes anywhere on their website.  Did they really expect me not to notice my service dropping every 30 minutes?  Anyway, as far as I am concerned, they are the only game in town, so I am stuck with them (I will never go with DSL, satellite, or dial-up again).  Guess I'm stuck with crappy customer support.  I can only hope the upgrades will actually improve my scores.

Thanks Soul, but I think I got it.  Had to turn down the application protection on Zone Alarm.  I really find it hard to believe that this was the problem, but the above stats say it all.  I will, however, keep you in mind if I get any further problems.  Thanks so much for the offer to help!

  4. Aha!  It was a Zone Alarm issue.  I had to drop the program control to low (after I undid the CableNut tweaks).

  5. Just moved to Florida, and just got Mediacom Highspeed.  I was extremely happy with the Comcast service I had in Albuquerque, and wrongly assumed Mediacom would be the same (I was running almost 3Mbps in ABQ).  Now look what I am stuck with

What gives.  I haven't changed a single thing (except I ran CableNut).  Now I keep getting kicked from BF2 when I never got kicked before.  All my online gaming has seemed to slow to a crawl.  Sometimes even Firefox won't connect to the web.

I am running Windows XP with SP2, and a Linksys BEFCMU10 Cable Modem.  The only change (other than the service provider) has been switching cable modems (I had a Motorolla Surfboard) and I no longer sit behind a router.

I am really disappointed right now, and wonder if I am stuck with these speeds.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

  6. Came to this forum for help.  Just moved to FL from NM (Comcast High-Speed).  My connection speeds are way down (less than 1mbps).  I keep getting kicked from servers in BF2, and constant CIs (connection interrupted) during JO.  I haven't changed any settings on my comp yet.  Went from a motorolla cable modem with a Linksys Wireless Router to now just having a Linksys Cable Modem.  Any hints or tips on getting a lot more out of my connection would be greatly appreciated.  I built my own comp, so I understand hardware.  I have it tweaked for gaming, but I am pretty much clueless on internet connections.
