my downloads are fine at 26 mb most of the time unless the site is slow but its just the upload that kills it for me
-
I've been monkeying with my NIC just now. I turned up the receive buffer to 64(from 16) and I also turned it to 100 full duplex(or 10 depending on connection speed), instead of the default 'automatic'.
It has caused my download speed to be more stable in a higher range. Otherwise my speed showed a bit slow that it should be.
the transmit buffer is good at 256.
Still needs some more tweaking.........
Well my upload is 30 mb so its really really slow to most websites and only from 5 to 15 mb which blows cause my xp machine is way faster and I hear you cant tweak win 7 like xp and vista
-
1 thing I know is windows 7 is slower for fast internet connections and to far away websites I get slow sleeds but to the same website with XP I get way faster results using cablenut and win 7's auto tuning sucks. The download is fine its just slow upload with and I dont know how to tweak that on win 7. any ideas ?
-
well you saw the windows index I saw on another website and hit was over 7 for the processor so something isn't right
-
I don't have any idea why that is like that and maybe its a setting you can change in your BIOS.
-
ok here is another score I found someone post and you should be right up there so something is configured wrong somewhere.
-
Something must be configured wrong somewhere cause that chip should score a lot higher and about what mine scores. Stock at 2.66 ghz mine is 7.2 i think and mine is overclocked to 3.33 ghz. When I shut off hyper threading my score goes down a little but I dont know what your issue can be.
This is your processor isn't it

I don't know why it would be low as mine is 2.66 ghz and has a really high score

I am using the newer Intel SSD and it has the trim update for windows 7 and it loads up windows 7 in 25 seconds and thats counting going through the bios screens too. I got the 80 gig 1 but it was $240 and if you want fast it is worth it but make sure you get the 2nd gen models so it can take advantage of trim support in windows 7. On the Windows Experience Index the Intel SSD scores 7.5 BTW

WOW !!!! Now I wonder how that software really is and I have heard good things about it. Is it possible all the viruses in your system isn't letting it detect them correctly ? Doesn't sound good anyway bad microsoft
-
Maybe I should wait a month or so then and see what deals happen to come around then and wait till everything is working right like you said
-
I would be using it for some gaming and making some game videos. I will also use the webcam a nice amount and bringing it to work and helping my friend work on a website, web browsing and some other things. I was curious on what people thought about dell and asus I was thinking about waiting for WIN 7 to be out on the laptops but this was on sale and is usually a nice amount more than this so I was wondering if I should wait.
What will be the difference between me getting win 7 on the laptop or me getting the disc from dell besides me installing it ?
-
I was wondering which 1 would you get and why ?

It say's here at MS the release date is Oct. 22 09' , but let them find a nasty bug and I'm thinking they'll delay it until they get it right this time.
Thanks
