Is this really going to be worth anyone's money, or does it seem like just a novelty item?

Everyone loves cartoons (or atleast some cartoons)
I think Futurama is my favorite show of all time, btw. It's perfect in every way

This thread is turning into the original poster's nightmare, but I guess it was inevitaible

I was never a fan of the Looney Toons gang, but that's not to say that they far outrank all of the newer cartoon shows I've had the pleasure to encounter (excluding their Adult Swim block <or atleast most of it>).
P.S: Put on shows like X-Men, now there's good watchin'

you might try using system restore, do you know the exact date that this started happening?

I've had the same problem before, sorry I can't tell you how to fix it; I took the coward's way out and just reformatted.

That's about the same latency I get in bf2 on 756/256k, but it's as low as 60 in other games.

Black Sabbath - A National Acrobat
I am the world that hides
The universal secret of all time
Destruction of the empty spaces
Is my one and only crime
I've lived a thousand times
I found out what it means to be believed
The thoughts and images
The unborn child that never was conceived
When little worlds collide
I'm trapped inside my embryonic cell
And flashing memories
Are cast into the never ending well
The name that scorns the face
The child that never sees the cause of man
The deathly darkness that
Belies the fate of those who never ran
Well I know its hard for you
To know the reason why
And I know you'll understand
More when it's time to die
Don't believe the life you have
Will be the only one
You have to let your body sleep
To let your soul live on
Love has given life to you
And now it's your concern
Unseen eyes of inner life
Will make your soul return
Still I look but not to touch
The seeds of life are sown
Curtain of the future falls
The secret stays unknown
Just remember love is life
And hate is living death
Treat your life for what it's worth
And live for every breath
Looking back I've lived and learned
But now I'm wondering
Here I wait and only guess
What this next life will bring

Another little story.
When I was about 21, my fiance and I were leaving town to visit her parents. When we got about 100 miles down the road, we realized that we could not find our baggy. Wonder to wonder we just went on down the road.
When I got home, my mother took me aside and asked me how I could stand to smoke that stuff. I asked her what she meant. She said that she had smoked 3 of those left handed cigarettes and pretty soon she had to lay down. The next thing she knew she could not get off of the bed and was getting companionship urges. I asked her how many. And she repeated 3. I went on to let her know that it had been laced. And never to touch anything with out consulting me first, please. So yeah, we were cool with each other after I got a little bit older. And she informed me that she never wanted anything to do with that type of stuff again.
By the way my mother was single at the time. Just me and her living there at the time.
By the way, I am a very bad liar, People usually see right through me.

Tomer going to her computer and upgrading the ram would allow you to do all you want.
He's right, you know.

If you pay him to build you that computer, don't trade in your old one, there's no point. I can't imagine any good coming from it, the parts in it are damn near worthless now, it's not going to benefit him (and it shouldn't affect the price). Keep it as a backup, or atleast use the harddrive.
As for the deal itself, 700$ is a little high, but the computer you are getting isn't too bad. He is ofcourse making a profit, but as you mentioned the convenience is what's important to you. No Windows license is a no no, but it's not like Microsoft is going to come get you, it does show poor (and illegal) business practice however (assuming this guy is doing this on a professional level).

Positive reinforcement can be much more effective than negative, though it really depends on the child, parent, and the relationship between the two that has been developing since birth. I personally don't see marijuana as evil, or particularly bad. That's not to say that the story isn't an example of bad parenting. The child is far too young for his mother to condone, or especially influence, and/or introduce the smoking of marijuana (or any other substance). The truth is, his age is the only truly "disturbing" part of the story. You have to realize that there are many normal, and/or successfull people that have made a habbit of smoking marijuana. Ofcourse there is the cliche group of "losers" and criminals that do as well. Marijuana is a mild drug, much like alcohol it can be used responsibly, or irresponsibly. It is illegal, which serves as a deterrance, but it seems all too many people get the idea locked into their head that marijuana is damn near pure evil because of this.

768/256k it is, up and running.

I think I'll just go with package #2, 2x upload and 3x download never hurt anyone.
-
The goverment would be paying for it (financial aid kicks ass).
-
Sorry.. got that wrong it's actually a 768/256k plan, so it would double my upload. also I save $10 per month for 6 months (making it 29.95 per month for 6 months, then $39.99 thereafter). As opposed to saving $5 with the 256/128 plan

"This letter is to inform you that your telephone number, XXX-XXX-XXXX, now qualifies for CenturelTel High Speed Internet. Please call our customer service department at 1-800-201-4099 to get the latest information available on the current promotions offered."
Looks like I'll be using D-way as a back-up connection for the next 10 months. Thinking I'll just get the 256/128k connection for $24.95 per month ($19.95 for the first six months), or would it be worth it to get the 768/128 even though I have Direcway (~800k down) incase I need the download speed?
-
I'm trying to find one like Netlimiter, but instead you can set a limit to how much can be downloaded within a fixed amount of time, instead of the max speed that something can be downloaded at.
-
Cancelling the Direcway service is going to be a pain in the ass, even if it hasn't been 30 days yet. You have to pay them an additional $100 termination fee, and a deposit of $400, then uninstall the system yourself and send it to them, upon recieval they'll refund your $400. If you want them to uninstall it "professionally", that's another $100.
Hardware Question

I realize this isn't the best forums to ask in, but I've found many people here know their stuff and are helpful. I just bought a new Motherbard, Processor and Ram.
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-M61P-S3 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADX6000CZBOX - Retail
RAM: A-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model ADQVE1A16K - Retail
I see that the RAM is running on a multiplier, and I was hoping to get it to run 1:1 with the processor (which would mean the processor would have to run at 400MHz fsb with a multiplier of 8.)
But I can't get the FSB to get anywhere near that high, the computer fails to post at anything over 300MHz FSB. Is it possible for me to get the RAM to run 1:1 with the processor on this hardware setup?
