  1. I used the removal method and the autoupdate still doesn't recognize it.

It does the same thing in both slots.

It cut out after I installed the SATA controller that the Microsoft Update wanted.

The only other card I have is my PCI Express Radeon X1900.

The only USB device is my mouse but I'll try it.

  2. I tried all those things and the autoupdate still doesn't recognize it. The card itself is a Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtrememusic. Windows still recognizes it as a Multimedia Audio Controller though.

  3. I ran it and it installed the Audio Console program, but the card still comes up as a Multimedia Audio Controller and it says the drivers aren't installed.

  4. :2funny:

Make sure the Onboard Audio is disabled in BIOS, uninstall any soundblaster/creative drivers in the add/remove programs list, then uninstall the "Multimedia Audio Controller" using the device manager.

Reboot, when windows detects the device, just hit cancel...

Now, goto http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/softwareupdate.asp?nSUFlag=1&sDestUrl=http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/&hdAllProduct=1&LangID=1033&hdDspLangID=1033 and run the auto-update.  It should detect the card...If not, try downloading the drivers from there, and install them.

Try that, and see what happens.

I guess this thing is faster than a Tempo, but still.

I'm gonna try that right now.

Merry Christmas too, by the way. :cheesy:

  5. BSODS are gone!!  :evil6:

However, now my sound card drivers suddenly dissapeared won't install. The computer sees my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi as a "Multimedia Audio Controller". I tried reinstalling the drivers both with the CD Rom and off the Creative site and both the EXE installers either say they can't find the right device or they install the drivers but the sound card still isn't recognized. I tried to pull the driver config settings off the CD and installing them manually but the computer won't have that. I'm starting to get angry.

    I think I built a damn Ford Tempo. >:(

  6. Ok it didn't have anything about my LAN driver, but it didn't like my SATA controller one and updated that. Hopefully this helps.

And yeah, this site is amazing. It's the only tech forum I've been to where people don't get yelled at to search for old topics when they have problems.

  7. Are you updating the lan drivers through windows update?

I had a problem with one of thier lan drivers for my onboard.  I had to get different drivers, and ignore their update.

Are you still getting errors in your log too?

What kind of NIC is it?

No, I'm updating them through the ASUS site.

    Yes, I'm still getting errors.

I'm using the onboard NIC on my mobo. It's a Marvell Yukon

  8. Ok I installed some ones that it seems I missed, including an IDE one and another SATA controller one I think. Hopefully this fixes it. :D

  9. you can go here http://www.driveragent.com/ and run a scan.  I'm not sure how much info they give you on the free scan, but I believe it should help you narrow it down a bit...

I run x64 XP Pro, and they always have the best drivers, and the links for all of them...Helps me a great deal.

Will do right now. Sorry I didn't respond earlier, internet was out last night. It's been a great week. >_>

  10. I think these might be it. The folder contained one ROM file that I am trying to install right now.

OK I found that the motherboard resources section doesn't have drivers but when I try to install that driver, the system doesn't see it.

  11. Ok I'm still getting them. I know I have not intalled chipset drivers but I can't find them anywhere(ASUS site, ATI site, disc).

I have the Crossfire Xpress 3200 chipset.

  12. I found like 4 errors in a row from my LAN driver(Which I swear I updated). I just updated that so hopefully this helps the problem.

  13. Ok I just got one and it said something like this:

    RIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

There may have been 1 letter in front of the R. It was cut off my screen.

    Here's the other thing:

    STOP: 0X000000D1(0X00000081, 0X00000002, 0X0000000, 0X8A3BB668)

  14. I'm trying to find chipset drivers for mine right now. I just hit the ASUS website and found one driver I didn't have. Don't know exactly what it's for but I'm downloading it right now. My chipset is the Crossfire Xpress 3200 one.

Edit: That was for some PC Probe program. Don't know why that was in the Drivers section. Anyway, I can't find those chipset drivers.

  15. I ahve an Asus A8R32MVP mobo, Creative X-Fi Xtrememusic sound card, and an ATI X1900 video card

And thanks, I'll do that right now.

  16. So I got this new computer built about a week ago and since then I have gotten more BSOD's than I had ever seen before that. I'm running Windows XP Pro, it is fully updated as well. These BSODs pop up at seemingly random times. Any help would be appreciated.
