  1. and that is the perfect example of individual thinking! That's why I do not believe that the government has the final say. We all are different. "NO-ONE" can be all of us! I don't disagree with you - i am merely pointing out the differences and contrasting views of a potential VP - President.
  2. Ghostmaster: I think you were reading my mind. It is part of what I meant to say. I'm with you on the religion in government thing too. Mudman: I love you too, and you know it A major point with Palin and McCain and the conservative base IS the fact that they want government by their religious beliefs. That is a very scary thing. I don't disrespect anyone's religion, I believe that everyone has a fundamental right to choose their religion. I also believe that government has a fundamental right to treat every person regardless race, color, gender etc as equal and afford them equal opportunities in every way. This is a CHOICE that she made, and I do not want to see it pushed down the throats of the American people. If she could, and she has stated this: she would remove federal funding for family planning and reduce the ability for students to learn how to prevent unwanted pregnancies. That is not something I want to see. I can educate my daughter about sex: sure. But many people won't. Let me repeat: The LEGISLATURE should do all it CAN to protect human life. So much for protecting human life.
  3. Great, glad you're happy. I hope your happy when she is elected and then changes the entire constitution aftet hey elect 3 supreme court justices' Good lord, this country is going to truly be big brother
  4. Of course she is pro life, but there are always exceptions and she refuses to accept all of them unless the mother would DIE!. How extreme is that? I am pro life too, but I would never force MY religious beliefs on anyone, and I know you wouldn't either. "Opposes explicit sex-education programs Q: Will you support funding for abstinence-until-marriage education instead of for explicit sex-education programs, school-based clinics, and the distribution of contraceptives in schools? A: Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support. " OK, don't teach kids about how to prevent sex, don't allow them the resource, and them make them have the babies??? HOW IS THAT FREE CHOICE?
  5. You bet: http://www.ontheissues.org/Sarah_Palin.htm look at the "Sarah Palin on Abortion" and "Sarah Palin on Families and Children" Opposes explicit sex-education programs. (Jul 2006) before her site was changed, she stated explicitly that abstinance was the only teaching she would support. I am serious about this, she scares me, and should scare you! My main issue is that she governs based on her religious beliefs. That is NOT a seperation of church and state!
  6. Mud: Please listen to me. Sarah Palin would (if she got the chance) outlaw sex-ed in schools and allow only teching of abstinance. She would (if allowed) allow NO woman's right to choose. She is the farthest to the right that you can get and that is a huge issue. And one that I know that YOU do care about. Let's talk later, but the media have not provided the truth about her at all, and I am afraid of it!
  7. I lurk baby, I lurk. Look behind you.. I might just be there
  8. *clears her throat* Once we have ascertained that the original post has been answered to our satisfaction (and our satisfaction is relative) Well, then it's a free for all Unless it's Shug Mudmanc4 Coknuck or tdawnez get it now?

  11. so you want a forum where everyone gets to attack everyone else and chew them up, spit them out and create paper mache's of garth brooks and cows out of them?? Did you know there is a big butter Jesus in Cincinatti Ohio? Really there is! here are the lyrics: In southern Ohio, just north of Cincinnati I beheld a vision, next to the expressway. Was a 60 foot jesus, with his hands in the air looks like he
  12. I don't know why you have an issue with the report Shug. You know that your post was appropriate, and on target. There is no reason for ANYONE to be inciting drama, bullshit, infighting or merely a bad mood toward others on this site. This is "testmy.net" and it is a help site. If everyone can't get along under those two topics, then lets get rid of anything that isn't testing, or support and the rest can go to "post your drama bullshit here". ok joke but funny but still true!
  13. LOL Nah Peep, sarcasm isn't against the rules. Sending mean PM's, posting derogatory comments against another member, making posts that state you are in a fight with someone, that kind of stuff is what needs to be addressed. Ganging up on people, you know the basic drama bullshit that anyone with integrity wouldn't do anyway.... that's what this forum is not about. Fight the drama!
  14. Nothing big enough to speak of, but people do need to be reminded from time to time that the place where they sit is not necessarily their own home.

  16. *continued* Again, this post is presented purely as a backdrop to the upcoming elections as everyone here has an opinion. oh, and I'm 29 (again) tomorrow. NOT close to 40!
  17. this is an election year, and there will be a lot of posts about the "rules" of America" and the beliefs of our founding fathers. In that reagard, I am providing a full accounting of the Constitution of the United Stated (albeit written as it was for the time, it was also written for the future). I will chime in with posts I agree with or disagree with, and feel free to pick it apart (politely) to find out what others think it means. The document however stands alone, and Les Ipsa Roquitor. If you wish to check my references: http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#Am1
  18. T he Constitution, as it was written, only mentions religion once. In Article VI, paragraph 3, the Constituion states that state and federal office holders "shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."{emphasis added} This paragraph allows any individual to hold office, regardless of their religion. However, there is no other reference to religion anywhere in the Constitution. Even with this silence on religion, the Constitution was ratified in 1789. By not mentioning religion, the delegates were avoiding controversy, since each individual state had their idea of religious freedom. By excluding religion in the document, the statesmen could also be silently advocating the separation of religion from this new nation, as expressed by Madison; " [the Constitution was not to grant] a shadow of right in the general government to intermeddle with religion." That's a little cleaner. The contitution states that everyone (every state has their choice of religious freedom and shouldnot judged by that choice. Everyone would include people up for nomination or election of office. For they are not allowed to USE their religion in office to promoth the changes they want. However, that doesn't mean their beliefs wont influence them. But I DO belive that Obama is not a muslim, never has agreed to being part of the faith (except as a child - and that was indoctrination. The reference to his religion is wrong. He is a Christian with a different name.
  19. What do you mean he won't swear allegiance to our country? I am assuming it was the email here: http://snopes.com/politics/obama/anthem.asp but even that is misconstrued. Read it very closely. I HATE these stupid emails that get passed around btw. Some people will never change their minds oonce they see them, and even if it's proved false, they don't care.
  20. I didn't say I was voting for him. What I said was I would vote for him, and why wouldn't I? I can tell you this much. The man has been an incredible vehicle for downsizing perks of elected officials and keeping them from abusing their positions even more than they have been able to. I also approve of his stance on people. Please don't take my next comment as a racist one, but it does show he isn't just all about promoting black people without reason (and this is HIS own race so it matters that he takes the stance, not the fact that the stance is about black men). He is all about holding black fathers that are not around for their kids accountable. He is about educating them (and all the poor and getting them the resources to BE educated). He is about strength of the family. Yes, he speaks to black men to tell them to stick around, but he also states that it is important for our contry that parents are involved in parenting and not just procreating. http://obama.senate.gov/about/ Barack Obama has dedicated his life to public service as a community organizer, civil rights attorney, and leader in the Illinois state Senate. Obama now continues his fight for working families following his recent election to the United States Senate. Sworn into office January 4, 2005, Senator Obama serves on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, which oversees our nation
  21. The bandwagon is the one against him. The same one that sends out those rediculous emails and makes websites that appear to be official when they are really merely opions of people that are united with racist beliefs.
