  1. Soo.

Since you can't/won't post the command (not that i care at the least) for your own ethical/moral reasons that would officially make it gloating. not sharing, or informing but gloating on the fact you've found something assuming others havent, and has felt the need to tell people about it. I mean yes you can sa you informed that you know and assume we dont but wait. oh yeah. thats still gloating

Even though i hate repeating things cause i dont wanna be an echo,

Why'd ya post a thread about it?

  2. Yes, i know many of you are thinking why post this? i know already ya little baka!

but if even one person feels enlightened in any way... i will feel better about myself.

    so... there...

BitTorrent is made for transferring files. It is peer-to-peer in , as users connect to each other directly to send and receive portions of the file. There is a central server (a tracker) which coordinates the action of all such peers. The tracker only manages connections, it does not have any knowledge of the contents of the files being distributed, and thus a substantial number of users can be supported with relatively limited tracker bandwidth.

Bittorents are used in a language of "python".

Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language,

Usually compared to "Java" or  as i call the pac-man of ones connection. just gobbles it up i tell ya. Anyway, it is very universal, like Latin except without the dead part.

name your OS, theres a great chance it will support it.

    lets see...

Covered what, why... i thinks thats it

Theres more detailed stuff i could go into, but thats only after you start.

telling you now would just get confusing.

Oh and a list of clients as well would be nice huh.

    1. Azureus (beware of this, Java based connection eating client if you have a slow conn.)

    2. BitTorrent original (When i say simple, i mean reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally simple.

    3. BitTornado (The sliiightly uprgaded orignal)

    4. ABC (Yet Another Bittorrent Client)  (A even better version.)

I myself have tried these. i have not tried the new utorrent or whatever thing so i cant say anything bad about it yet.

I'm 98.96% sure this is all correct. :confused1:

if not i'm sure one will correct

  3. OK, OK, I give  :confused1:

    What's a torrent  :?:

    What's a bitorrent  :?:

    What do they do  :?:

Why would I need one  :?::whaa:

Since no one has answered your ques. (in this topic at least)

i will take it upon myself to educate my new tomodachi.

    Just call me Oni-Chan

    Ahem*

  4. One must be carefull of what one downloads though, no?

Tehy seem to be tightening down on that.

looks like a good client though.

I use Azureus for my Anime needs.

Using Clients as such will drop your connection speeds though by half though i promise. Azureus takes oogles from your computer. I got a gig of Ram. the things like pac-man i say just gobbles up ones Bandwith

  5. I don't know if it makes a difference or if it's something else but i live in the basement of my house. the whole concrete walls, cement floors with very thin carpet and no windows thing. (lost to roomate for upstairs on a game of blackjack.) :)

tested by my laptop it gets to about ten feet from my door.

I wish i had that kind of range.

  6. Actually I got almost the same hard drive and it did that to me too. But my Cousin works at CompUsa and he fixed it for me. He said it was an easy fix (for him)

(not me) but i use it as storage not thee master. not helping am i?

    Sorry

  7. The range is what like 75-100 feet at best?

So your side neighbors could get a weak connection depending on how close they lived or the dude with the laptop in your driveway would be on your network.

But if you ever do use it you could put WEP on it and thats a 128 bit enc. no?

Each computer is also logged to the router so if you have 1 computer thats on your router and 2 show up as active... uhh. ya should know somethins up.

Thats my unneeded opinion at least.

  8. When you first read the article I would have done the same thing, I mean he was  probably in shock from the stupidness of the site. Whats sad is thats there are is probably someone out there that thinks that. I wonder if their kids are suicidal?

Also I never new Linux was made by soviets. does that mean we are all communists?

  9. Heys,

My Tomodachi lives in the middle of nowhere, (somewhere near the h) and has to use dial-up

(Poor soul ) He's thinking of getting satelite but it costs alot and gives very little.

He likes to download stuff from bittorrents and stuff, but with his current 56-k (hurts just To type it :icon_pale:) he cant.

Is there any way he can get a faster connection less petitioning insight to expand their borders?

I think he would have a better chance trying to get people to move their instead. ;)

Soo. how can i help my friend who is going to pay as much or more for 1/2 the connection speeds i get?

Or is this beyond the realm of possibility?

My Tomodachi goes to EKU and his campus gets about this.
