hi all i just called verizon online dsl support they told me the westell 2200 is no more.and they sent me a dsl modem in the mail and i got it today.it's actiontec GT704WC modem.

thanks for the info that explains alot.also i was told i have my own private line-sub station.don't know anything about a substation.

i also use windows xp and it's firewall.don't know if the westell 2200 has a firewall and if does how to u use it or check it.can xp's firewall mess the speeds up on this site or any other sites.

is it normal for your dsl speeds to go from 2.9mbps to 1.5mbps.i have verizon's 3mbps package here.and is this site the best site to test your speeds.verizon's infospeed test site always gives me a 1.5mbps this site and other sites give me 2.9mbs.my upload speeds are always 739up.cnet's broadband speed test put's me at 1.0mbps. so why is all this stuff crazy lol.also i do have my pwn private dsl line but can traffic here in the afternoon and evenings still afect my dsl?

been 2 months since i have had dsl i have the westell2200.had direcway internet before dsl.

i'm running windows xp .verizon gave me the run around all day on the phone they were supposed to come out and look at my lines but they never did.they called me 3 times letting me know that everything was fine i'm still have speed trouble.maybe it's the sites that have traffic or something who knows.

my speed keeps going up and down for some reason dsl is starting to sux.here is another speed test i just did.
