IA8 89:W:1150  Pro w/dynamic

On the computer (its about 5 years old) I have Ad aware and Spybot and have had them for a long time.  I also have Webroot Spy Sweeper, and have enjoyed it because it tells me when things change and stuff like that which is very helpful.  The scanning is way 2 slow though and almost freezes when I do it.  What should I get as sort of anti virus, thats what windows said I need.

Ok, nevermind I messed around with some stuff, and Zone Alarm was like blocking something.....

So should I keep sp2 or go back to sp1?  Also, I need a good free antivirus program...one that doesnt require lots of resources since that computer is way 2 slow already.

Yeah, everyone wants WildBlue right now, I would have got it but Dway has the deal for 99 a month instead of just paying for everything up front.  Seems to ease the pain!!!  Soon WildBlue will over sell their bandwith and the transponders will be jam packed.

Have you ran the tcp optomizer, and cable nut?  Also make sure you connect to the proxy and get rid of viruses, adware, spyware and all that stuff.  If you can, windows update I think helps, (getting sp2).  Other than that, try clearing your history/cache and cookies...Also (for me atleast) Firefox tends to give me about half the download speed than IE.  Im on IA8 89 W 1150

Usually later at night or earlier in the day its about 120-130 download speed.

Yeah I heard somewhere about how in about 2 years that most people could have broadband over power lines...

Ok it loaded up kinda slow but atleast it did load...Should i go back to an early restore point, or should I stay with sp2?

Also, my wireless network connection will not connect for some reason...

Yeah, Im glad my new HP Laptop came with a Xp cd...Its taking forever though...Im doing the repare...should I have just chosen to reinstall xp sp2, or when the computer gets back up, should I just revert back to sp1 since sp2 like srewed it?

ok, im not sure if I have an XP cd laying around, hmmm, just checked and I cant seem to find one crap!  I usually let people borrow it, and you know you never get things like that back.

well it rebooted about 6 times and I got tired of it, and I didnt want my older brother to walk in and start yelling at me that it wasnt working so i just like turned it off...should I try again? and just let it keep rebooting?

I just downloaded and installed/updated my computer to Windows Sp2.  It installed and then the message comes up that you have to reboot.  I rebooted and the computer starts up again normal and then shows the XP screen (black with the blue bar goin across) and then after that shows a black screen for about 5 secs and then very quickly it flashes a blue screen and i think it has some writing on the very top of it but it is way to quick to even get a glimpse of what it says.  Then the computer reboots its self and it goes through the same process over and over.....

Can someone please help me with this problem?

1.6 ghz and came stock with 256mb ddr ram (added another 512 so dimm 3200 and now Im at 768 mb then 128 goes to memory so Im left with 640mb)

40 gb hard drive

My brothers computer (brand new)

Toshiba Satellite L25-S1193

Intel Celeron M Processor 370 (1.5 ghz) 512 then after graphics its 448 mb of DDR2 SDRAM

60GB (5400 RPM)

Even though I have more ghz and more ram, his computer still seems alot faster than mine....Can anyone explain this to me?  His computer is also lighter and thinner and doesnt get as hot as mine.
