Hey tonyp, Ive had my Dway System for more than 3 weeks almost a month.

There are tons of websites that have pre made layouts for you and you just copy the html code and paste it in the About me part.  Im not currently on my computer (im using my brothers) but Im sure if you just do a good search for Thomas's Myspace Editor, hopefully you can find that one as its very easy to use and can put the colors you would like.

What is k-melon? ive never heard about that

For me With Satellite internet IE or any other IE based browser.  Also Opera works equally as good and fast as IE.  I loved Firefox and used it with dialup (it was much faster than anything with dialup) but it seems slower and I get slower download speeds with Firefox.

Im using a router, Linksys, but It doesnt make a different because ive ran speed tests with/without the router and there typically the same.

Support has never told me to try to force range.

There is no spyware/adware/viruses or anything like that on my computer.  It is only 2 weeks old, just got it.

Ive ran Cabluenut and the TCP optimizer.

Gosh Darn!  I know I wasnt under FAP earlier...all I was doing was browsing.

Anyways...My internet was working fine for a while then BAM right around 10 it just completely stops....I go check the user control panel thing and it keeps switching from Fine/Normal to the Yellow thing "Degraded".  I call tech support, i get transferred to level 2.  The lady told me to unplug my dway modem and turn off my comp for 2 minutes.  After I did that and booted back up, by golly (lol) it was all good.  I tested my speed and had about 108 download (which is good for me).  So she was like everything seems to be fine and I was like ok...  5 minutes later, omg it goes down again!  Anyways...I dont feel like calling tech support back and waiting 20 minutes on hold and then waiting "48-72" hours for Engineer. 

Ive been unplugging and plugging my modem in for a while and It finally started to load webpages, although my status is currently on degraded (Web Acceleration thing) and it switches to Ok then back to Degraded continuously.  Speeds are sooo slow...take a look....

Maxthon was nice, but I mean if I right clicked on a link, It would just have the option for "New Window" which is just a new tab...I dont know but sometimes it bothered me.

Ive tried IE, Mozilla, Netscape and the IE based Maxthon....

IE=Fast but  no tabbed browsing (i didnt like the plugin for it)

Mozilla=Good, But Not as fast as IE

Netscape=Same as Mozilla

Maxthon=Like IE, and Has Tabs, but for some reason....I dont know...I cant open links in New Windows, not tabs

So I guess Im off to try Opera

Can you open up links in seperate windows in Maxthon? or is it just tabs...

OMG Can you believe this "DirecWay Customer Suport" My ass

I call, hold for a long time, talk to some guy with a weird accent...I had to ask him to repeat things 2 - 3 times ( I think "Robbie" was getting annoyed ).  He asked me questions blah blah blah, told me to do a speed test using mydirecway and I was like can we use a different website and hes like sure any one "A real good one is testmy.net" and so he told me to go here/there lol.  And I do the test and my speed was around 300 or so and He was like ur using a wireless router please disconnect it and stuff so I had to hook my computer up directly to the stupid modem and then try...It was like the same.  Then he had me try to download that stupid program off their site to help "optimize" my browsing speeds which I told him I had already done and hes like well try it again and Im like im sure Ive already done this.  So anyways I run it and it tells me Ive already optimized the settings so hes like "Ill be right back" and he comes back like 12 minutes later.  Then hes like go into IE and do those like Lan Settings, Which I had already done.

He also had me reboot my comp twice and then the system twice.  He made me do it off the site restart thing and also made me unplug it. 

He also told me that my computer might be older (Which I had to inform him I just purchased this computer 2 weeks ago)

So after all this blah crap hes like go to your Network Connections and he was telling me to do something ( I could hear someone in the background telling him to tell me) and I already had the settings he told me.  Then he disappears again for about 10 minutes...comes back and hes like Sir...

"We've detected that your computer has programs that might slow it down such as Adaware/Spyware and Miscallenous things like that".  I was like BS, This computer is at its peak being new and all and Ive cleaned it up, I dont even have an antivirus/spyware program installed.  (What the Hell, They Scanned my computer?!?).

Then hes like well, lets just do the test on MyDirecway and Im like how about testmy.net and hes like no, thats not at all Accurate.  So we do the test off of Direcway and of course the speed sseem "average"

Heres what it said Speed: 751 (down) / 63 (up) kbps

and I did a test earlier yesterday and I got December 14th, 07:00PM - 256/26 kbps
