  1. :haha:

Well It finial happened we got WiMax to replace Dway. Speeds are  a bit faster and there is allot less down time. I no longer have trouble getting to SSH pages or any others.

    :2funny::smitten:

How do the prices compare for the speeds you get???

  2. I've forgotten my password for satspeed a couple of times.  Everytime I asked to be reinstated, it happened that night.  No problems with those guys here.

I see the uploads are slow tonite.

  4. Well yes I am on the SOHO plan because it was 50/50 in all the forums I belong to as to whether that would make a difference so I figured if I was going to go all out for the bigger dish and 2 watt radio then I might as well get the best plan I could afford and hope it was worth it. Of course satt. is never worth it but you get the idea, lol. here is my speed right now with 4 computers on the net atm.

I'll keep my 7000s until something better comes along.

    Hopefully it's sooner than later.................

  7. My brother upgraded to the HN7000s with the Pro Plus package and was only bouncing around 550 - 700 on the speed tests.  He even called Hughes to make sure everything has been switched to the Pro Plus package, but they assured him that he was running fine.  After several months of unhappiness, I talked him into trying TCP Optimizer and than CableNut.  I told him to give each a couple of days after he ran them.  He didn't have much luck with TCP, although I know many have, but he had better luck with CableNut.  Here is the file I sent him.  Now he consistently runs around 1700 - 2100.  I hear that tweaking does nothing for the 7000s, but when I remove the settings, I run like crap.  When I reinstall them, I run much better.  Maybe it's just dumb luck, but I'll take it.....

  8. Better today than yesterday

I did have troubles a couple of weeks ago too, but I had problems with my modem and my transmitter.  I've been better since.  I had to call Hughes.

  12. Just a quick note about "Degraded".  I recently had a similar problem with my 7000s.  The level 2 tech told me that the 7000s can cause problems with the radio transmitter, mine is 1 watt.  It can make it fail or just cause it to act flakey.  The tech got me out of the woods by having me do "Force Ranging".  It ran for about an hour before I saw any success.  Now I'm back flying better than ever.

  13. ACP can be found here http://192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/advanced.html . By changing the modem made a change in your system. Was there a transponder change? I would say that high with the 6000 meant it was right on the money, next to perfect. I jumped a few points going from a 4000 to a DW7000 but got to 83 RSL X 83 ACP with some dish tweaking. Took me over an hour to do so. You can have a good signal but a poor ACP which would cause some problems. Let's continue, check that link, there are many things to learn here.

I forgot to ask, did you get a new power supply? That can cause problems that can't be explained, using an old supply.

    granpa

Sorry for the delay in getting back.  Long hours at work......... anyway

I did not receive a new power supply with the new 7000s modem.

Ok, I found the link above... what am I looking for?

  14. You seem to have a problem here. More information :?: is needed about your HN7000S system, longitude, receive frequency, ACP and Signal Strength.

    Longitude: 117 West

    Receive Frequency: 1070 MHz

    Signal Strength: 77

I don't know about ACP, but my signal strength when I had my 6000 was 94.  The dish was not touched, but I only installed the 7000s modem and the signal dropped to 77.  Even the customer service person was wowed by the signal strength of 94.  He could not explain the drop after the 7000s was installed.  He said it must be the weather.

I also constantly get "web acceleration status error", and the system in DEGRADED.  It happened twice while I typed this message.

    Any direction would be appreciated.

    thanks

  15. I defrag about once a week.

I do the rest of my cleaning about as frequently.

I only restart my modem when I have trouble.  Certainly not each time I get on the net.  Maybe I should?!?

I have another computer on my home network that the kids use.  It seldom gets cleaned.  When I still had my DW6000, it always ran faster then my main computer.  I've taken to cleaning it completely once a week, or so.

I probably should be better at cleaning.

  16. I agree with that granpa.  From everything I've been reading, alot depends on traffic and alot depends on cleaning.  I try to clean at least once a week, depends on how much time I have.

Can you give me some insight on this below?

I never had failed connections like this until the day I set up my 7000s.
