  1. Ohh and reply back if that file helped you or download speeds.

    It helped mine and alot of times when you take the bandwidth test it goes up and down at different times when i used that setting it is at a constant setting all day.  I had at first 300kbps down and that's really slow for my connection so i used cablenut and looked around and used J79zlr's website or whatever and i must have done 50 different setttings and i increased my internet connection from 300kbps down to 3900kbps.  And it stay's at a constant rate ussually the lowest it will go is 3500kbps so it's not that much at all and that's when it's really high traffic.  Belive me cablenut saved my life it really has helped and also read around this website and i gaurentee that you will be faster and faster sooner or later!

  3. Hey i'm just checking to make sure in J79ZLR'S cable nut settings i was wondering it says

    "Enter your connections download and upload caps in kilobits per second (Kbps), and enter in your expected latency if you know

    what it is"

    and i was wondering when he say's Enter your connections download and upload caps in kilobits per second; when he say's caps

    does he mean when i check my speed like the download test or does he mean what i am capable of doing provided by my cable

    company like 5Mbps down and 2Mbps up.

    TCP options string = 020405ac0103030001010402

    MTU = 1492

    MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

    MSS = 1452

    MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising your MTU value.

    Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 5808

    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits

    Unscaled Receive Window = 5808

    RWIN is a multiple of MSS

    Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:

    511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)

    255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)

    127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)

    63888 (MSS x 44)

    bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 232.32 kbps (29.04 KBytes/s) @ 200ms

    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 92.928 kbps (11.616 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

    Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.

    MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

    Time to live left = 57 hops

    TTL value is ok.

    Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

    Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

    IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)

  10. Hey i was wondering how to increase my internet speed.  I have Cox cable internet and it's 5mbps speed.  And i'm doing a really slow bandwidth for my conection speed.  I'm doing about 300 kbps bandwidth.  I have a HP computer with All of McAfee's services (firewall, privacy service, anti-virus, anti-spyware, and spam-killer which i don't use though).  I have 512mb memory.  A 60gb hard drive.  I have a 1.86 mghz processor.  And i have a Motorola SB5120 cable modem.  And i use an ethernet cable.  And i really need some help on how to increase my internet speed.  If anybody has any answer's please help me.  If anybody knows how to change any of the settings on my computer like just anything please respond thanks.
