  1. ? who said i was downloading with peer to peer? back to you trogers

  3. normal download speeds are 50 to 65, when 120 was the norm before. I have checked all cables etc, but nothing has changed, other than a new drive i'm on tiscali 1mb :::.. 5. Ok, that worked, although i had tried it earlier. speed tests still poor tho
  6. I know, its weird, even when i clear the boxes and select "retrieve registry values" it still says 64240 Tiscali 1mb
  7. I've had to do this all again after a hard drive failure. Done the speed tests, ran cablenut, tcp optimizer results below. But in cablenut, my RWIN already IS 64240 connection still slow, whats going on? SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer TCP properties for IP = ........................ 8. I'm trying to help my dear old mum sort out a computer issue long distance. She cant forward on Joke type emails, silly .jpg's, .Wmv files etc Any plain text emails are fine, but she cant forward pretty much anything. I cant think of any Outlook express settings that would do this? She's got XP home Tiscali broadband Norton anti-virus
  9. System seems seriously slow, lots of hanging applications, kapersky reports no problems after scan. I fear i may have altered a setting in the firewall that is causing some hidden problems, can i reset the firewall to its default settings? Also, why did kapersky pick up my .mp3's in "my music" folder and tell me they were spyware?
  10. problem solved, the link for the download, in another thread was only for configuration editor and command centre files. i uninstalled these and downloaded the program again from aginum's site, working fine now. all that for a duff link. cheers van buren
  11. Ah, that screenshot sure helped. When i go to start>all programs>agnitum>outpost office firewall: i only have configuration editor and command centre is this because i have the trial version or is the damn firewall not even installed? it says it is in add remove programs! help for a person similar to two short planks please
  12. Mine is set for wizard in client configuration too, still no sys tray icon tho. anyone else?
  13. I installed the trial version on recommendation, all reviews seem to suggest its very good. Only thing is, what does it do? i'm still getting spyware and adware, lots of pop-ups etc despite removing them daily with ad-aware, spybot, bit defender etc. I tried a re-install, a firewall is definately enabled in internet options, although it could be the useless Xp one, and i dont have an icon in my systray Help
  14. a huge improvement for sure, many thanks for your patience and help

  17. There is no value for initial small buffer count,(6th box down) is this correct?
  18. sorry, but when i download it, it is a .txt file not a .ccs file its called index.txt i dont know how to apply these values, and cablenut doesnt see this file
  19. i already have cablenut installed, from that site as well. but its a text file, cablenut doesnt see it?
  20. this is not a .ccs file? its a .txt file. how do i get cablenut to enter these values?
  21. will try, then repost results. thanks
  22. thanks trogers, but your last post makes no sense to me i'm afraid, could you explain to a dummy?
  23. i also noticed while downloading the firewall recommended in the sticky that my download speed is only 33kb/sec compared to 118kb/sec before i installed cablenut
